Benefits of Sex
The skin and the sub-layers of your penis or vagina serve as a secondary neuroendocrine system where sex hormones, neurotransmitters and prostaglandins are made. The parasympathetic nervous circuits from the tailbone and the sympathetic nervous circuits from the spinal cord is the pelvic autonomic nervous system which drives the secondary neuro-endocrine function. A vaginal intercourse of about 25-80 minutes will fire up heat on the penis, which will promote health through the the neuroendocrine function. It is not beneficial, though, to have sex longer than 80 minutes, because one may end up using up many essential enzymes and trigger a cortisol release.
BEWARE - too frequent orgasm and ejaculation will lead to exhaustion of your brain and hypothalamus-testicular axis unless you stop the conversion of norepinephrine-epinephrine.
The orgasm triggers a release of prolactin by the pituitary. An optimal prolactin release from your pituitary and eyes is good for cancer and tumor prevention, hGH production, and for healthy eyes, brain, liver, kidneys, heart, uterus and prostate. A chronically excessive prolactin, though, can disable the sexual function, cause depression, induce cancerous development and screw up the reproduction system. The prolactin can be converted to a 16K-prolactin which stands for a 16 kDa N-terminal fragment of the hormone prolactin. The conversion is made by the enzyme matrix metalloproteinases, which is released by chondrocytes (bone marrow stromal stem cells). The 16K-prolactin has a antiangiogenic effects which is generally beneficial.
Another benefit from sex and orgasm is the elevation of GABA and glutathione.
GABA is synthesized from glutamate using the enzyme L-glutamic acid decarboxylase and pyridoxal phosphate as a cofactor. After sex or orgasm GABA elevates, along with serotonin, norepinephrine and prolactin, which triggers the pineal gland and retina to release melatonin for better sleeping, promotes hGH production, nervous regrowth, cellular repair, neuro-endocrine restoration, and sharper vision.
Glutathione is synthesized from some amino acids(L-cysteine, L-glutamate and glycine) by combining L-glutamate and cysteine via the enzyme gamma-glutamylcysteine synthetase to form gamma-glutamylcysteine, and then adding glycine to gamma-glutamylcysteine via the enzyme glutathione synthetase.
Elevating of glutathione can reduce the formation of oxidative toxins, such as Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), associated with oxidative injury and cellular/nervous damage.
However, if you lack any of those enzymes and amino acids, a problem occurs - you will get excitotoxicity and brain/nervous damage from your orgasm sponsoring neurotransmitters glutamate, dopamine, norepinephrine, epinephrine and histamine which stimulate the gene over-expression of monoamine oxidase in your brain, liver, kidneys, adrenal glands, heart and other organs, which will cause premature aging, brain and nervous damage, and sexual exhaustion symptoms.
Sexual activity or orgasm induces a burst of norepinephrine and epinephrine(adrenaline) release into your bloodstream. For healthy individuals the norepinephrine and epinephrine release will stop and drop to normal levels several minutes after the sexual act(though the overall level will be a bit higher even hours after sexual activity). Moderate increase in norepinephrne and epinephrine results in an increased concentration of lymphocytes in the bloodstream for immune enhancemen. However, an excessive norepinephrine leads to an excessive prostaglandin E2 production, which overheats your body and causes immune disorders.
