Dear Dr. Richards,

I have sexual exhaustion and I am pretty sure I cannot achieve an erection, but scared to try in case I do any damage. I do appear to get them in my sleep but it feels its only because I am lying down and they are very weak and not pleasrable to the touch.

My penis is also hard when flacid and somewhat smaller and it appears that there is a vein sticking out on the right hand side, although it is not the normal colour of a vein. I also get tingling sensations in my penis.

I have seen a post on another site where some bloke’s penis retracked very small and went very hard after a nights session. After many months he tried a low dosage of cialis every day just to promote erections but did not ejaculate and it seemed to do the trick i.e. penis went normal and he got his horn back.

I wondered what you thoughts were on this, i.e. would it be beneficial to take something that promotes erections like cialis which would enable the penis enough blood flow to prevent further damage from the inflammatory chemicals? I thought if this would help mend the penis by ensuring adequate blood flow, so that it could once again be more sensitive/ pleasurable, it would help kick start the recovery process. Obviously one would still not ejaculate.

I only ask because a few weeks ago I took some cialis over a weekend in the company of my girlfriend, had lots on erections but did not have sex once, and a few days later my penis just relaxed and went normal size and went almost normal in terms of sensitivity. Then I went for a sprint (hadn’t done sprint running in a few months) and instantly it went hard when flacid once more for about 5 mins afterwards before returning back to normal. I have ejaculated twice since and now the hard flacid has come back/ with low sensitivity.

Kind regards
David

ANSWER
David, it won’t be beneficial, not in a long run.

You see, SSRIs drugs will not increase serotonin production in the pelvic area, but only inhibit the reuptaking of serotonin in the nervous synapses. Reuptake is a term for molecular destruction by liver enzymes. SSRIs will poison the liver by blocking the enzyme that destroys serotonin molecules and by reducing enzymes that are essential to dopamine and acetylcholine synthesis, and will induce an excessive prolactin release with deficiency of oxytocin, testosterone, DHT, and acetylcholine.

SSRIs will give a temporary boost and then harm you, it’s like giving a doping to a tired horse. One will need Cialis every time (for the same results) until it completely destroys the sexual functions.
The acute stress caused by your sprinting session is the cause for your shrunken penis.

UPDATE
Thanks.
I do have a few more questions.

I had an erection that appeared to be stuck last night, and I had to walk around to get it to go down. I thought a mild case of Priapism initially. The only thing different I did was to take 2 Gabba capsules instead of the one (I have only been taking the Gabba for 2 days). I did notice that this has happened before, when I was taking L’Arginine. I am sure Gabba/ L’Arginine has nothing to do with it, but wondered what you thoughts were?

I think I was making progress up until this happened, i.e. erections during the night (although not sensitive ones) and the tingling sensation had stopped in my penis.

However now I have an ache at the base of the penis, where it joins the body on the pubic bone region. What would cause an erection to be stuck?

I also have a large varicocele, which I have had all of my life. Do these contribute to any of the sexual exhaustion symptoms? I have never had any pain from it and it would seem weird that it would start affecting sexual performance now after 28 years..

Finally, is there any reason why my penis would appear almost normal both when flaccid and during erections when I am lying on my side, rather than on my back or standing up? Must be a blood flow thing..

Thanks

Have you used any PDE5 hours of days prior to the episode?
