I recently became aware of the negative effects of edging and Kegels. I am 37 y/o with a past history of at times excessive masturbation. I had a vasectomy in 2004. Due to relationship stress I became addicted to masturbation. In 2007 I was diagnosed with chronic non bacterial prostatitis (which I now know was a result of excessive masturbation). Currently I am undergoing relationship stress due to premature ejaculation and now total shame and avoidance of sex. She is feeling rejected. I don’t have the money to try all of these supplements you suggest right now but am wondering if discontinuing edging, kegels and all sexual activity for an indefinite period will be helpful. I have no problems getting an erection even through thought alone but cannot last more than a minute or so during intercourse due to the over excitement and a lot of pre-cum. This really began in 2009. Oral is a bit more manageable. I’m also concerned about the effects of vasectomy. Is there a way back to sexual health? Since I became interested in Taoist sex practices things went from bad to way worse with the PE. I am stopping all of these practices. I just want to have a fun sex life with my partner without the anxiety I’m experiencing. Thanks for your website. Should I have intercourse at all? I’m stopping masturbation all together for now. My partner and I have not had sex in 6 months. I haven’t been ejaculating much in the last 6 months but was jerking and edging almost daily. Help!
ANSWER
Yes, sexual activities discontinuation will prove to be of assistance in reversing the negative prostate nervous training and will lower local excitatory and inflammatory response. You should discontinue masturbation for 1 to 3 months and gradually return to normal.
The vasectomy you’ve gone through might be causing an opening of the blood-testis barrier for sperms and antigens to seep through the vessels where will trigger autoimmune response and local inflammation that will support the premature ejaculation. Lowered testosterone and DHT levels are also to be expected through the accumulation of sperm inside the epididymis that will release inhibin and decrease FSH and LH release. Of course, the releasing sperms for the autoimmune response will also re-stimulate testicular function and increase the testosterone and DHT levels, but the cycles will only bring minor inflammations and may eventually lead to numerous problems.
UPDATE
thanks for your reply. I regret having the vasectomy now.. but it’s in the past. Many men have had it done and all have had some issues due to it. I hope mine is minimal. Is reversal beneficial years later?
I will discontinue masturbation practices. I’ve read that regular testicular massage is helpful for vasectomized males due to congestion that can occur. Are there any other things I may do to optimize sexual function given my age and vasectomy or is it all down hill for me? I still feel very sexual and enjoy good health overall other than this anxiety causing PE that began about a year ago now.
I’ve read other posts about random supplementation being ineffective. Would taking a good multivitamin help? If you were to suggest some supplements what would they be? I would love to try the ones you promote when money permits as you seem to have a very specific understanding about what needs to be done about the depletions that occur. Thank you again for your time. This is a great site.

It may take a while to restore a vasectomy damaged pituitary-testicular function and largely depends on the time between the vasectomy and its reversal, as well as the age. But I suggest you go through the reversal procedure, the success rate should be around 70-80%. 37 isn’t that much, actually, most of the men nowadays suffer numerous problems in the area not specifically because of the age, but because of the unhealthy lifestyle and prolonged self-abuse.
Alpha-Amino, Multi-Alpha, 5HTP-Nettle, GRB6-GABA, Zeolite-DA, and Ultra-Purified-FishOil will prove to be a beneficial combination in this case. It will better nervous and endocrine functioning, stabilize sympathetic local sympathetic firing that may contribute to premature ejaculation, detoxify and better proper liver functioning and P450 system, aid and restore proper modulation on inflammatory response, increase androgen hormones production through the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal-testicular axis, and increase prostaglandin E1 E3 and Nitric Oxide. Also, you have to eat more fresh vegetables and fruits to aid your liver and prostate functioning. However, for optimal results, the vasectomy should be reversed.
uBreeze may be considered after symptoms improvement. Ideally, additional androgens will increase erection power to the point of slight numbness, thus effectively prolonging the time for ejaculation.
Glad if I could help!
