Hi there. I recently used finasteride for around 40 days and stopped after my libido diminished. It is really taking a toll on my psychological well-being since it has been a whole 8 weeks since I stopped and I’m still in the same **** situation I was before. EVEN WORSE – now I seem to have developed muscle twitches and increasingly low ejaculation volume.

I got my blood tested about a week ago and my testosterone levels came 450 with LH 8.7. I’ve gone through your theories and stumbled upon your Multi-Alpha which seems reasonable enough to be taken but then I saw it contains Saw Palmetto. Isn’t it also 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor? This is interesting and I would like to know your opinion.

Kind Regards,
Josh

ANSWER
Fianasteide inhibits of the enzyme that converts testosterone to DHT and it will affect every part of your body just as strong. To name a few: your testicles, liver, prostate, muscles.

Saw Palmetto, on the other hand, will just usually prevent extremely excessive DHT conversion and lower DHT levels only if they need to be aligned with rest of the androgens, which is usually the case if one is taking it.

Given in a proper combination Saw Palmetto is just ideal for treating male pattern baldness and benign prostatic hyperplasia while at the same time improving overall organism functioning and increasing androgens. This ay sound contradictory only at first. Teenagers have the highest DHT levels in their blood, yet they do not experience hair-loss nor any prostate enlargement. It’s all about the proper hormone-neurotransmitter ratio.
