Doctor Richards, I’m glad I’ve found this site, cause there’s been something that’s troubling me. About a week ago I was unable to achieve a proper erection with a girl. This was very strange experience for me cause I’ve never had problems before, that night I was drinking so I thought it was because of it. But thinking about it, I drink a lot and never had problems before, why now? Lately I’ve been losing sexual power for no apparent reason and I am just 23.’

I though then that this was a performance anxiety so started to watch porn and guess what, even then I had weaker erections and it was not as good as it used to be. I don’t have any other symptoms of sexual exhaustion, but why lose sexual power then. I don’t masturbate that often 1 per every 2 days or something. THANK YOU!
Brian

ANSWER
Since you don’t experience any other symptoms of sexual exhaustion I would say that it is mainly the alcohol that is affecting your sexual power.

Alcohol can diffuse into the nervous synapses and cross the neuron-artery barrier. It can bind to the receptors of acetylcholine, glutamate, serotonin, and GABA.

Alcohol will kill your liver detoxification system which is responsible for proper liver functioning and numerous enzymes for synthesis of vital neurotransmitters, plus DHEA and testosterone production. When your detoxification system is not working properly the liver won’t produce the proper response to will help convert nutrients into hormones and neurotransmitters. Instead it will produce aromatase that will convert testosterone into estrogen.

You should discontinue the alcohol consumption until you recover. You may also lack the proper nutrients that are to be converted into hormones and neurotransmitters.
