I have been taking serotonin, borage oil, l-glutamine, l-arginine,l-orthinine, and multi vitamins as well as saw palmetto for a few weeks and have noticed no improvement in my premature ejaculation. I have actually noticed I have lost morning wood and it isn’t good. Should I lay off the serotonin for a while? How should I get my neurotransmitters in balance better? I also don’t think I get much acetylcholine in my system due to the fact my diet is very poor and I have never eaten an egg in my life, which supposedly is a good source of it. what would the effects of that be? Thanks!

ANSWER
A random set of supplements may not deliver the desired results. You got it right, there must be a proper hormone and neurotransmitter balance. The 5HTP may not be a great idea if other neurotransmitter/hormone balances needs are not met.

UPDATE
so I have stopped taking 5-htp and after a few days I have my morning wood back which is a good sign. Does this mean I have sufficient serotonin in my body and my premature ejaculation problem is because of other causes with the other neurotransmitters or prostate?

ANSWER
It depends on dosages. One would achieve erections with the 5-HTP supplement easily, that is if proper androgens levels are present in his blood. There are many causes for Premature Ejaculation actually, so one should address every possible cause for best results.

UPDATE
Ah I see. Thanks for responding to my questions, I greatly appreciate it. What are androgens? How would I increase my androgens? I am going to the urologist tomorrow to help with penile dribbling, and I will ask him about my premature ejaculation problem and see if he could give me a testosterone check and serotonine/histamine etc.

ANSWER
Androgens are a group of chemically related sex steroid hormones. They will increase through proper hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal-testicular functioning.
