Hi Dr Richards,

I’ve been trying to go without masterbating for the past few months as I suffer from big time sexual exhaustion. (I’ve been taking the supplements) but every time I get to week two I start to get a numbness in my feet, like they’re cold but to touch my feet they don’t feel cold. I think it’s nerves because when my girlfriend rubs my feet I get a tingling in my penis and if she continues rubbing my feet it feels like I’m going to ejaculate without erection. My lower back gives me the same cold, numb, burning feeling and same thing… when she rubs it I feel like I’m going to ejaculate, but with no arousal or erection. Are my nerves all wacky from not getting dopamine fix or are they so use to the chemicals masterbating provides that the nerves are all sensitive? I’ve never gone past two weeks because I’ve always ended up ejaculating to relieve the symptoms in my feet and sometimes lumbar back. It’s like a built up burning pressure. My legs get heavy sometime too.

Any thoughts?
thanks,

ANSWER
Over sensitivity of the sympathetic and parasympathetic nerves due to stress and inflammatory hormones fluctuations, along with the negative neuroplasticity developed, are the most probable reasons. The slight rise of androgen hormones while still experiencing high levels of excitatory and inflammatory prostaglandin E2 in the local nerves and tissues contribute to the condition.

Masturbation returns you to status quo with elevation of prolactin levels and supports the negative neuroplasticity your organism used as an operating mode for years.

UPDATE
..does that mean I should just try and tough it out and eventually it will go away?

Giving in to masterbation to relieve it just puts be back to square one, so no matter how much that will help me temporary, it’s the wrong thing to do, right?

It’s almost like my nervous system wants me to ejaculate so it can get a fix. Any idea how long this could last?
It’s not as bad in the morning, gets worse as the day progressives. Could too much choline be causing this? I take B complex during the day, along with citicoline.. then my Gaba, 5htp formula at night which seems to settle it down a bit. Is there anything else I can do to ease the symptoms? Hopefully this doesn’t go on for too long. It’s hard not to stress out when you’ve got the “shakes” to ejaculate. This sucks.

I was thinking of trying acupuncture to calm my nervous system. Do you have an opinion on this? I tried this a long time ago and it made me VERY relaxed, although it also gave me a the shakes/chills at night in bed.

One last thing… I’ve always have suffered from really bad anxiety which is why I think I started masterbating in the first place. I also have a few phobias, such as urinating in public. I guess these things don’t make it any easier for me to relax and let my system heal. I have knots in my stomach from stressing over this.

You should try to abstain during the first months of the negative neuroplasticity alteration processes. However, if the urge is too strong, you may ejaculate – this will slow the process down but it is unlikely to put you on square zero.

“Any idea how long this could last?”

I would say 1 to 2 months. However, you seem to have suffered from anxiety even before starting masturbation, which is an indication that your individual gene expressions won’t be that favorable as far as a quick recovery goes.

“Is there anything else I can do to ease the symptoms?”

You may try the new GRB6-GABA, as well as Multi-Alpha, and Alpha-Amino (to be replaced with Alpha-Amino after a month) for even greater synergistic effect with the old supplements.

“Could too much choline be causing this?”

Highly unlikely.

“I was thinking of trying acupuncture to calm my nervous system. Do you have an opinion on this?”

Yes, if performed by a well trained specialist, it may prove to be highly beneficial.

Actually, it is disturbing that you suffered from anxiety even before engaging in over-active sexual activities (which surely worsened the condition) but is an indication of individual gene expressions that need to be dealt with properly for satisfactory results.
