I have trouble staying asleep sometimes and often find that I am not rested even if I sleep for a long time. I masturbated to porn most nights for about 3 years and it caught up to me. Sometimes I don’t have very firm erections and sometimes I do. Morning erections come and go and I sometimes feel like I wake up at any time during the night and have an erection but at other times it feels lifeless. I also had my testosterone levels checked when I was having terrible insomnia and it was 304 as total and 8.6 as free. I am only 34 and I want my life back. I ordered the alpha amino the gaba7 and the 5htp/nettle and will take them as soon as they get here. I also it the cold pack underwear. Please help. What should I do? I desperate and will do anything.

UPDATE
I asked a question earlier but realized that I might not have given you enough information so I will make an effort to remedy that. I am a 34 year old man who is in really good shape physically. I have about 17% body fat and am fairly muscular. I have always been ultra sexual and have masturbated off and on since I was about 13 or 14 but really picked up in the last 3-5 years. I hurt my back and it pinched a nerve making me feel like I had a prostate infection. Doc gave me several rounds of antibiotic and it did nothing. I went to a chiropractor and she instantly made that feeling go away. The urologist had told me to ejaculate as much as humanly possible so I did. It got to where I would need to ejaculate to go to sleep. I recently stopped completely. If it isn’t with my beautiful wife then I am not interested. However, I am sexually exhausted. I now have prostititis and severe premature ejaculation. I often also have very weak erections. I also have tinnitus that comes and goes. It feels like my body is inflamed. I get morning erections about half the time. I also went to the urologist a little while back when I just didn’t feel right and had severe insomnia. I would go 2-3 days without sleeping. I just could not fall asleep. He checked my testosterone levels and they were really low. It was 304 first thing in the morning. He attributed that to my lack of sleeping and wanted to wait a month or so and check it again. I ordered alpha amino, one of the gaba products you have and the 5htp-nettle. I also ordered the cold pack underwear. Please tell me whT I need to do. I love my wife and beyond attracted to her but often I unable to do what we both want to do. Tell me what to do and I will do it. I want to get better.

UPDATE
I need your help badly. I am stuck in a cycle of inflammation. I might get morning erections once or twice a week. I don’t have any libido at all. I want to but my body just doesn’t seem interested. I have ringing ears. I have had prostate problems but they seem to have subsided. I had my t levels checked a while back and the free T was 8.6 and the total T was 304. I feel strong and still have very good muscle mass and definition. I have 16.5% body fat and can bench 300 pounds. I eat very healthy including a ton of omega 3 fats. I don’t understand what is going on with me and I really want to feel like me again. I masterbated daily sometimes multiple times and to porn for a long time. I am taking multi alpha, alpha amino, the gaba, fish oil, 5htp-nettle, and will start with the zeolite and alpha hgh as soon as I receive them. What will be signs of recovery? How can I know if it is improving? Thank you for you help and for what you are doing.

ANSWER
I must apologize for the late reply. Let’s get to the specific case without further delays:

I’ve gone through the messages and it seems you’re very right for speculating you are stuck in a cycle of inflammation, as the symptoms are definitely indicative of such. The low testosterone levels are usually indicative of a partially locked hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal-testicular functioning as well as improper nervous modulation on excitatory / inflammatory responses.

Note that before an androgen drop there is usually a period of PSAS (Persistent Sexual Arousal Syndrome), during which the patient will feel in “heat” and masturbate often as a result of heightened excitatory / inflammatory prostaglandin E2 levels, combined with the then still high androgen levels. However, I believe you may have gone even further with your doctor’s recommendation to masturbate as often as possible.

As you’re currently experiencing low androgens due to the mentioned exhaustion, prostaglandin E2 and other excitatory in nature hormones and neurotransmitters usually lead to the symptoms you describe:

* Insomnia due to excessive sympathetic functioning, combined with improper serotonin-melatonin transitions
* Tinnitus due to excessive sympathetic functioning, inflammation, and androgen deficiency
* Chronic inflammatory prostatitis (obviously non-bacterial as the antibiotics didn’t help)

What should I do?

The first step would be to create what you would consider a positive neuroplasticity and keep it for a prolonged period of time. Every problem must be addressed simultaneously to avoid feedback reactions supporting the developed negative neuroplasticity.

For starters, there are some things you may consider doing, such as:
* Exercise
Running is very beneficial for Nitric Oxide-hGH boosts, as well as improved neurogenesis.
* Proper diet
Much fiber, fruits, avoid milk with prostaglandin E2 analogs, avoid empty calories and much red meat.
* Negative ion exposure
The general rule is wherever there is water, there are negative ions: rivers, lakes, oceans and ponds, even your own shower.
* Massages
Similar practices definitely have positive effect on local inflammatory processes and proper blood circulation restoration.
* Sexual activities discontinuation
This is considered crucial, obviously. You’ll need to discontinue sexual activities for 1 to 3 months and then limit masturbation as well as other similar in nature activities to 1-3 times a week for 3 to 5 months.

Alpha-Amino, Multi-Alpha, 5HTP-Nettle (should gradually discontinue it 3rd to 4th month), GRB6-GABA (should gradually discontinue it 3rd to 4th month) and Ultra-Purified-FishOil for the specific case, will improve nervous and endocrine functioning, stabilize acetylcholine, serotonin, dopamine, GABA levels, aid hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal-testicular axis proper functioning, restore proper serotonin-GABA nervous modulation on excitatory and inflammatory response, increase androgens, increase elasticity prostaglandin E1 E3 and Nitric Oxide, alter numerous gene expressions, and eventually rewrite the negative neuroplasticity developed.

Note that the primary goal for the first 3 to 4 months is to restore the proper acetylcholine-dopamine-serotonin-GABA levels and ratio and modulation on inflammatory response, as well as proper dopamine-norepinephrine-epinephrine conversions and dopamine-prolactin ratio. You would then need to monitor your overall stress levels (both physical and mental) for some months to make sure you’re keeping the developed neuroplasticity. Alpha-HGH is to be added after the 3 month period as a final straw to improve libido (in a healthy manner) and overall organism functioning.

It seems that you’ve gotten the combination right even without my severely delayed response. The one thing you’d also have to be careful would be increasing your androgens with uBreeze while you still not having fully addressed your serotonin-GABA nervous modulation on inflammatory response. It could lead to PSAS related symptoms and exhaustion all over again, especially if you engage in excessive sexual activities due to your increased capabilities.

What will be signs of recovery? How can I know if it is improving?

In this particular case the first signs of recovery would be a gradual prostatitis, tinnitus, and sleeping patterns improvements. You will generally feel more balanced and symptom fluctuations of any kind will lessen. The libido will remain relatively low for months into treatment and may even go lower as you improve certain excitatory / inflammatory related processes that used to create sexual urgency. After a couple of months of sleeping better and overall organism rejuvenation you will start noticing increased energy levels and mental clarity. You may then start using uBreeze and supplements that target androgen levels to increase them further as a final straw of recovery. I’d recommend continuing using minor supplemental support while simultaneously avoiding overactive sexual activities for at least a year after full symptom resolution to cement the positive neuroplasticity changes.

Please, keep me updated on the case.

Glad if I could help!

I will follow your advice to the letter. I have been taking the 5htp, alpha amino, alpha multi and fish oil for about 3 weeks. I just added in the alpha hgh but I will back off of it for another month or so per your recommendation. I also ordered the sr-cream because I thought it would be beneficial. I have ejaculated only once in 3 weeks. I see big improvements already. My skin is not as dry and I have not had any more tests done but I am almost positive my t levels have come back up a good bit. I feel better all around with much less anxiety and an overall better outlook. I have just been taking the cold showers rather than using uBreeze. I have been doing it a couple times a day. Basically if I see that my testicles are hanging really really low, I have been cooling them off. I feel better mentally about the whole thing when I wake up with an erection and since I started taking the alpha hgh I have done that. Also, I have gotten some spontaneous erections in the past few days. Is it bad to take the hgh 3 weeks into it calms you down and improves your outlook but you don’t act on the sexual improvements until your are more than a month in and then do it only with a partner and once or twice a week? Thank you so much for your help

Also, what signs should I look for to indicate that hpta is unlocked and functioning properly? Thanks again.

I seem to be healing up. I am feeling better overall and pretty much everything but the tinnitus has reduced significantly. I also don’t know about the premature ejaculation yet as I have not had sex or ejaculated for 3 1/2 weeks now. My testicles are not hanging as low and my penis is bigger when flaccid and not dead feeling anymore. One more question that I have–is there a safe way to increase girth? I have seen a lot of people have trouble with jelqing. I thought the sr cream might help some with that. I want a little more girth but don’t know if it is dangerous. Please advise.

Also, what are your thoughts on painting testicles with iodine for t boost and to improve their size and function? Thanks again.

I’m glad you’re observing improvements already. It’s definitely a nice practice to cool testicles off when you catch them hanging low as it’s usually indicative of both improper testicular heat levels and low androgens. You did well to begin with cold showers initially as well, as they have positive effect on numerous inflammatory processes and the risk of developing PSAS related symptoms is low.

Also, as properly assessed, SR-Cream could only help with local penile tissue health and integrity.

Also, what signs should I look for to indicate that hpta is unlocked and functioning properly? Thanks again.

The general signs would be increased energy levels, increased strength and endurance, increased libido, increased confidence, stronger erections and actually diminished premature ejaculation. Furthermore, androgen levels increases affect numerous systems in your body as well, so indirect symptom improvements are also to be expected.

Also, you’ll notice physical signs such as a resolution (for the most part) of the low hanging testicular phenomenon, an increase in muscle mass, and a decrease of % body fat.

I seem to be healing up. I am feeling better overall and pretty much everything but the tinnitus has reduced significantly. Please advise.

That’s certainly an interesting question. I believe that there is a rather safe way to do so.

Firstly, penile injuries occur much more frequently in people who have been shown to have lower androgens levels. Androgen levels, and in particular testosterone, are largely responsible for penile tissue health and integrity. Consistently having levels of bellow 500 ng/dl while performing penile enlargement practices of any kind is considered unsafe. Many people injure their penises despite having taken all the precautions such as warming up and avoiding high pressure routines just because an organism may be unable to properly cope even with that lighter routine.

Having made sure you’re androgens are high and your testosterone levels are consistently above 700 ng/dl (ideally) you may consider using a very light in pressure 80% – 90% erection jelqing O grip method. The goal would be to expand your tissues just above their 100% capabilities. Ideally, you’d have to strive for a 105% expansion of your normal tissue capabilities, which should manifest in a barely noticeable excessive pressure. Conventional jelqing is much higher in both intensity, speed of repetitions, and pressure (I’d suggest avoiding that).

Naturally, here a huge safety addition would be the SR-Cream as it will prevent any excessive local tissue inflammatory response even if you go over the top. It will also increase both Nitric Oxide and Prostaglandin E1 E3 for tissue elasticity, expansion, and health.

Of course, warming up the tissues is a must to prepare them for the routine.

Also, what are your thoughts on painting testicles with iodine for t boost and to improve their size and function? Thanks again.

It’s a controversial subject. I’ve actually discussed it with colleagues and is not taken seriously for the most part. If you decide to try I’d advise you to use a solution with water that is low on iodine in ratio 10 to 1 at least.

UPDATE
You mentioned that you would recommend me taking a supplement to boost t levels for about a year. There are many that claim to do this like shilajit and tongkat Ali among others. Is there a particular one that you would recommend as being the safest and most effective? Also, my tinnitus has not yet improved at all. It still comes and goes but sometimes it is quite bad. Is this something that will take longer to heal? I am sleeping better and overall feel better. Prostate issues are better. I actually had sex after 6 weeks and the pe was also a little better but I hope it will continue to improve. Thanks again for what you do.

Just wanted to keep you updated so if there is anything I need to do differently. I still am getting occasional morning wood. I believe my t levels are fluctuating quite a bit. Sometimes I can look at my wife and get a full hard erection and sometimes I can’t get one at all. PE is still bad and when I ejaculate ( which has been three times in last two months) it is very little semen. I now sleeping great and feel more confident and assertive though. Tinnitus is still very bad too. Do you think I am on track or do I need to adjust something? Do I need to be on a t supplement now?

For some unknown reason the insomnia came back the last two nights. Just can’t sleep. I feel like I am about to drift off to sleep but just can’t. Today I have also has mild prostate issues (a little discomfort while urinating and not really have a full stream. I am planning to get some quercitin and take it as it will not only help with inflammation but should help with prostate as well. Why the fluctuations? Is all of this normal?

Sorry to bother you again but I don’t know any other way to get the information. I think I am improving some but I am not really sure. I am see some physical changes such as my penis is a little larger while flaccid and overall I am sleeping better. In my last email, I told you about the insomnia coming back — that lasted about 2 days and then I slept again. I will go about 2-4 days in a row with good morning erections and then a couple with nothing. Why is this and is this normal? Also, I am not having prostate pain but it seems that my urine stream is weak and sometimes frequent. The last two times I have evacuated it has been majorly premature. Almost immediately after getting an erection one time and with little semen. The other time was not quite as quick but still very premature. This seems to be worse than it was. Is that normal for this stage of recovery? I am more confident and much less stressed out and overall see some improvements but I am concerned about t levels and if they will unlock and return to healthy levels. Please advise. Thanks again for your help.

I have one more question and then I will try to not bother you. You are an amazing person for doing what you do and I can’t thank you enough.

Sometimes I get what I would call hot flashes. I get really hot for no apparent reason. Sometimes it only lasts a moment or two. I sort of hot most of the time even if others aren’t. Is this due to inflammation? Also, sometimes my penis has a cold feeling to it even if I am hot. It is almost always in the evening. This is very concerning. I just want my life back and I fear that I have broken myself. Am I just being impatient? I have been on your treatment regimen for right at 8 weeks now. I waited 1 month without any sexual activity and have only had sex three times in the 3 weeks that followed and honestly it was not very enjoyable. Please advise when you can. Thanks again

ANSWER
I must once again apologize for the delayed response. I’m frequently quite limited in time assigned to answer all the cases as they grow exponentially with the questions added to each one that is answered and the new ones being submitted. Let’s get to it right away:

You mentioned that you would recommend me taking a supplement to boost t levels for about a year. There are many that claim to do this like shilajit and tongkat Ali among others. Is there a particular one that you would recommend as being the safest and most effective?

It’s usually a good idea to address it with a combination of nutrients / substances in order to stimulate numerous related hormones / neurohormones at once for balanced effect. For instance, taking just Tribulus Terrestris might not be the brightest idea. However, combined with L-Arginine, L-Lysine, and supportive amounts of DHEA, as well as numerous vital amino acids and minerals (a quality multi-vitamin and amino-acid formula) usually creates the desired effect.

Also, my tinnitus has not yet improved at all. It still comes and goes but sometimes it is quite bad. Is this something that will take longer to heal?

It seems to be one of the symptoms that take quite a while to disappear since long-term damage (not permanent in most of the cases) is frequently involved.

Just wanted to keep you updated so if there is anything I need to do differently. I still am getting occasional morning wood. I believe my t levels are fluctuating quite a bit. Sometimes I can look at my wife and get a full hard erection and sometimes I can’t get one at all.

I’m glad to hear you’re doing better. Symptom fluctuations are common but the overall trend is what should be monitored and is considered important.

PE is still bad and when I ejaculate ( which has been three times in last two months) it is very little semen. I now sleeping great and feel more confident and assertive though. Tinnitus is still very bad too. Do you think I am on track or do I need to adjust something? Do I need to be on a t supplement now?

It seems on track with the exception of lack of improvement in regards to PE. In such cases it’s usually predominantly supported and related to a negative local tissue/nerve plasticity training. It’s actually a rather complicated issue and is frequently difficult to pinpoint the exact combination of the factors that are strongly involved and contributing to its continuous existence. I’ve written a brief article on the matter and would suggest taking a look at: https://cure-erectile-dysfunction.org/premature-ejaculation and possibly try to define which of the contributing factors may be involved more strongly than the others. It would definitely be of much aid.

They are usually considered normal and will be ignored by most physicians as long as the overall trend is positive (as numerous symptoms and conditions could be affected by temporary lifestyle factors such as: diet, stress, environmental factors, etc.).

I will go about 2-4 days in a row with good morning erections and then a couple with nothing. Why is this and is this normal?

Some of the hormones related to the specific mechanism are known to be involved in more than just daily cycles. For instance, the known increase of Testosterone on day 7 (ref: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12659241?dopt=Abstract). Some of the androgens are known to participate in various weekly cycles, so such weekly symptom fluctuations may be considered normal if we are to assume that some of the levels of those androgens are borderline low (thus fluctuations could affect erections, whereas if they were high enough, fluctuations would remain invisible as far as such symptoms are involved).

Of course, purely external factors could also be involved, such as: diet, stress levels, and different environmental factors.

Also, I am not having prostate pain but it seems that my urine stream is weak and sometimes frequent.

That’s actually a frequently observed symptom with abstinence at first. It is usually related to the altered ejaculation schedule and the related prostate response to it. It’s lessened stimulation may actually create a somewhat “polluted” / “heavy” prostate feeling as the prostatic fluid is not being released as frequently. Naturally, it also affects the urine stream. Patients usually report improvements in a few months.

The last two times I have evacuated it has been majorly premature. Almost immediately after getting an erection one time and with little semen. The other time was not quite as quick but still very premature. This seems to be worse than it was. Is that normal for this stage of recovery?

It’s not uncommon for PE to persist for some time as it’s a complicated issue and could be caused by numerous supporting factors. Be sure to check out my response regarding the issue above.

I am more confident and much less stressed out and overall see some improvements but I am concerned about t levels and if they will unlock and return to healthy levels. Please advise. Thanks again for your help.

With serotonin-GABA nervous modulation restored, Testosterone levels will increase in a moderate fashion. However, the important thing is that it will open the route for a proper and complete hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal-testicular axis functioning restoration with a combination aimed at supporting such.

Sometimes I get what I would call hot flashes. I get really hot for no apparent reason. Sometimes it only lasts a moment or two. I sort of hot most of the time even if others aren’t. Is this due to inflammation?

It’s really hard to tell as it’s a very general complaint and could be caused by a wide range of things. It could be inflammatory in nature, excitatory in nature, glucose levels related, and many other possibilities.

Also, sometimes my penis has a cold feeling to it even if I am hot. It is almost always in the evening.

That’s actually very common in sexual exhaustion cases and especially in ones where low androgens and testosterone in particular are involved. It is especially prominent when you address serotonin-GABA nervous modulation because you basically stop excitatory nervous heat that used to drive PSAS-like conditions for so long.

This is very concerning. I just want my life back and I fear that I have broken myself. Am I just being impatient?

It’s important to fix any inflammatory / excitatory modulatory imbalances first, and it is usually the time some discouraging symptoms may continue to be present or even worsen as they were reliant on those very excitatory responses. When you start addressing androgens in a safe manner, however, many of the depressing symptoms (such as low libido, fatigue, loss of strength) will start disappearing in a rapid manner.

I am 30years of age and am suffering with chronic bactereal prostatitis for the last 5 yrs.

My prostatitis was discovered in 2005 while I was working In a bank and was living a sedentary lifestyle.I have always had only one life partner to whom I am married now and have never ever had sexual relationship with anyone else.I used to masturbate almost 3 times a week before marriage (That’s till around 6 months back)and while I was in college I sometimes did it daily. While I was in my early teens I have sometimes masturbated 3 times a day.

My symptoms are the same now as they were 5 yrs back, only the intensity changes. These symptoms include sharp pain during urination, urgency to urinate at least ten times a day, disturbed sleep at night due to the reason that I have to get up to urinate at least once.

I have had the following tests done, all with NORMAL result
Transrectal ultrasound
Cystoscopy
IVP
Semen analysis
PCR Tubercular bacteria identification test etc

I get urine and semen culture done regularly and take antibiotics(21 day course) according to the sensitivity report of the identified bacterial colonies. Sometimes after having antibiotics some of the symptoms get relieved and the reports come out negative but then again after a period of 3 weeks or so, the culture shows positive results leaving me taking antibiotics again with aggravated symptoms. I have taken the following antibiotics till now:
Ofloxacin, Ciprofloxacin, prulifloxacin, feropenam sodium, amikacin and many others

My cultures show growth both in urine and semen. Now I have started feeling pain in the crotch area all the time and my symptoms are aggravated. I feel very low and depressed PLEEEEEEEEEEAAASE HELP.

ANSWER
Hello there,
Chronic bacterial prostatitis is a rare condition and most of the cases (up to 80%) are responding well to the antibiotics prescribed. That leaves you in the 5 to 10% of men with chronic bacterial prostatitis and in the 20-30% of them that do not respond well to antibiotics. I would suggest diagnosis revaluation. Inflammatory or anatomical factors that precede the bacterial prostatitis and strongly contribute for overgrowth of the cultures are to be excluded first.

For instance, the poor blood circulation associated with the sedentary lifestyle may have contributed to the prostate malnutrition and inflammation for lowered levels of elasticity prostaglandin E1. An abrasion followed through forceful series of ejaculations that further inflamed the prostate and caused discomfort. Different bacteria then took residence (or just grew in numbers) through the abnormal immune response in the area, so the condition became self supporting.

My advice to you is to:
1. Discontinue sexual activities for 1 to 2 months.
2. Make a good use of Zeolite-DA, Multi-Alpha, 5HTP-Nettle, Alpha-Amino, and Ultra-Purified-FishOil to better nervous and endocrine functioning, increase androgen hormones, better the liver functions, properly modulate inflammatory response, and increase prostaglandin E1 E3 and Nitric Oxide synthesis. The combination above will better the overall blood flow and immune response, and lower internal inflammation for restoration.

Dear Dr. Richards. Please excuse my spelling, I’m not an English speaking guy.

I’m a 21 year old boy who have i firm flaccid penis and a chronic prostatitis (i think)
I can start by telling you my story. It started for a bit over 1 year, when i masturbated, and experienced a red and swollen penis. The swelling was on the left side on my penis, not big, but like a bulb on top of my head and on the top of my shaft on the skin(I’m not circumcised). It also had small 2 dots in grey color upon the swelling (like a had teared something, maybe a small skin vein, i don’t know). I went to the Dr, but got sent back by saying that this would be alright, just don’t masturbate and have sex for a while. The swelling got down by some hours, but the next day i experienced a firm flaccid penis (it has been like this now for a bit over 1 year).

So after 4 weeks (with no improvements) i decided to go to a urologist. He said that he couldn’t find anything upset an small scratch down at the base on the left side (i can feel an indention here when erect), but like i said, this is at the base, my swelling was higher up. So he didn’t do anything just said it will be alright and that it would grow back to normal. Soon after this, I started to get pains in my testicle ( in the end i couldn’t site or i had troubling walking) so I went to an andrologist. He found out that i had an very swollen and inflamed prostate. He diagnosed me with a acute prostatitis (which is now a chronic prostatitis, I think). I haven’t masturbated for 7 or 8 weeks now (but I got 1 or 2 ejaculations in the nights). He put me on medications and said that i needed to masturbate and have ejaculations. Eventually I got better, the pain was gone after some days, but the firm flaccid was exactly the same. I got back and he didn’t understand the firm flaccid thing. He thought it would be some hormone thing, and I took some tests, and was send to an expert on this. He found out that i had an metabolism problem(high metabolism) and I started after a good while with some medications on that. The symptoms on metabolism problem is now better, but the firm flaccid thing is still there.

My symptoms are very variable. When im standing or going it gets harder, and when im running/training and in stressful things (adrenaline is pumping) it gets really really firm (It’s like it tightens up). This can happen in a few seconds. But when I’m lying down or sitting(in a relaxing position) my penis gets soft(normal). It’s almost also gets normal (soft) when im feeling the need for urinating and when I’m urinating. Alpha blockers has also help a bit.

My erections is also weird. Its like it has lost its elasticity(i have lost the spongy feeling) and the feeling is not the same. Its sometimes a bit uncomfortable. Its just like its cramping, or ‘over-hard’ if i can explain it like that. (I also had some periods, where i woke up in the middle of the night with an really hard weird erect penis. I needed to wait 5-10 minutes or even go around for a period of time to get it down. This was really annoying) It’s like that my erection is locked, lost my feeling.

I think therefor that i can have had the indentation before the incident occurred, because it its ‘over-hard’ and you can feel the penis (corpus c.) much closer. My penis has also always pointed a bit to the left, not when erect, but when flaccid. Other than that, i can say i have been much more observant about my penis.

Some months ago, I also had some problems with my pelvic. Especially in training i sometimes felt pain. This has now gone away, but it is seems like my pelvic is tight. I don’t know how this was nefore my injury.
My testicles is often also very red. Like an inflammation.

I have taken ultrasound, MRI, doppler, nothing have been found.

I have been taken multivitamin, c-vitamin, fish oil(also before my injury)
Do you think this is a muscle tension, chemical/hormone imbalance or a tissue(membrane) issue? I can say that I was in an very stressful period of my life when the injury happened. One last thing that is worth mention, is that 1-2 hours before my injury, i got out and trained in the winter with almost no clothes on. I then experienced pain in my groin/testicles area. It was from here the andrologist thinked that i got an acute prostatits, and maybe helped me got the firm flaccid penis condition(this is ofcorse just an hypothesis, because we really frustrated)

I really want to get rid of the firm flaccid thing. This is really frustrating for me, and i really hope you can help me? Is there an formula you can give me? I think this site is really great and helpful. Thanks

ANSWER
The stressful period plus the vigorous workout right before the damage additionally increased the levels of stress and inflammatory hormones( cortisol, epinephrine, and prostaglandin E2), and temporary burned much of the bioavailable androgen ones that are also responsible for the penile tissue health, blood vessel, and nerve integrity. After the initial damage and inflammation, the body started to release a collagen scar tissue and you experienced the firm flaccid penis condition.

The penile damage, the swollen prostate, and the testicle pains have the same origin – increased stress and inflammatory hormone levels for local inflammation and decreased prostaglandin E1 E3 for tissue elasticity and healing. You’ve also probably suffered a mild abrasion through a forceful contractions upon ejaculation for additional testicular and prostate pain and inflammation.

Causes for a firm flaccid penis in an upright positions are borderline androgen hormones levels that are usually needed to support the lower body. Other causes: penile damage, pelvic arterial constriction, and tense pelvic area. The urination will seemingly better the firm flaccid condition through a tissue relaxation that is needed.

“Do you think this is a muscle tension, chemical/hormone imbalance or a tissue(membrane) issue?”

It is quite possible to be all of them.

There are several things that should get you on track:

1.Discontinue sexual activities for a month.
2.Apply hot wraps and the special SR-Cream.
3.Make good use of Alpha-Amino, Multi-Alpha, Alpha-AGH, Ultra-Purified-FishOil, and testicle cooling solutions to better your nervous and endocrine functioning, boost your androgen hormones production, modulate inflammatory response, charge the CNS, and increase prostaglandin E1 E3 and Nitric Oxide for healing.

About four months ago, I began experiencing pain, numbness and an increased feeling of firmness in my right testicle. The doctors I went to treated it as an infection, and I took two rounds of antibiotics with no effect. During this time, however, my symptoms began to spread. First the pain and firmness spread to my left testicle. Then I began to experience pain of the groin at the base of the penis, again starting on the right. Finally, after experiencing pain in the tip and body of the penis, I began to have a feeling of extreme firmness in my penis when flaccid. It seems to my perspective as being in a super-retracted state almost all the time. When I urinate, this hardness and retraction seems to be alleviated, about 90-100% of normal feeling. As soon as I finish urinating, however, it goes right back to its firm flaccid state.

Stress seems to make all of these symptoms, but especially the degree of retraction/firmness of the penis, worse. It is worse when standing and walking than when in a more relaxed position. This is especially problematic as it rubs up against my pants when I am walking, making it very uncomfortable. I can obtain and maintain an erection normally. The hardness even seems to ease up a bit while it is in a transitional semi-erect state, similar to what I experience when urinating. However, if my penis is especially retracted due to stress or activity the erection is often painful. Spontaneous erections during the day usually cause this problem, whereas nocturnal and intentional erections usually do not. About two months into having this hardness issue I began experiencing an increase in the pain at the base of my penis, groin, and testicles for up to 48 hours after ejaculation.

After seeing three urologists, I was diagnosed as having chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome and was prescribed alpha blockers. Although I did not see it as relevant before, I have been experiencing hesitancy before urination (sometimes a minute or two to start going) for the past year. Until this diagnosis, it did not strike me that this is not normal for someone my age (22 years).

I have also had other mysterious symptoms over the past year outside of pelvic area. I have had pain/tingling/numbness in my legs and feet on and off for the past year, and about nine months ago I had a bulged disc at my lowest vertebra, apparently without injury or trauma. The best lead I have right now is that my scoliosis may be causing these problems, as all of my symptoms are occurring below it. I will admit it is not much more than a hunch at this point. The pain in my feet now matches the pain in my pelvic area in intensity and frequency.

The pain I am having is unpleasant enough, but the firm flaccid penis symptom is causing me a great deal more anxiety. My other symptoms come and go, but walking is always uncomfortable. This is also a tangible change to my body, which makes it much harder emotionally.

My questions are, first, could this problem be a symptom of chronic prostatitis like my urologist suggested? Or perhaps a biochemical imbalance? It does not appear in any list of typical symptoms of CP/CPPS. In doing research online and on this site, it seems that many people experience this symptom after injury, sexual exhaustion, or MDMA use. However, I have not experienced any injury to my penis, or done any stretching exercises. At the onset of the firm flaccid symptoms, I was masturbating less than once a week, as the pain in my testicles significantly reduced my desire to do so. I have never used MDMA. I am very confused as to what could be causing my problems.

Second, is there anything I should be doing to either ease symptoms or prevent damage? Am I in danger of permanent tissue damage? Are the alpha blockers helping or hurting me in this situation? I have already quit smoking and drinking coffee. After doing some reading on this site I have been taking vitamins b and c, and fish oil, just what I had around the house. Are there other supplements that could help me with this problem?

I would greatly appreciate any help or insight you may have.

ANSWER
The unfortunate fact is that many people with similar problems are treated for prostatitis/CPPS. It’s important to note that at the same time it is uncertain to what actually causes most of the prostatitis/CPPS cases.
Here is what I consider the problem:

You suffered a hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal-testicular lock. If you were not engaging in overactive sexual activities at a time, other factors such as: genetic, stress, and ill lifestyle may have contributed for the exhaustion. Anything that promotes excessive prostaglandin E2, cortisol, histamine, epinephrine, norepinephrine, and glutamate levels is to be avoided.

Tissue malnutrition due to narrowed arteries as a side effect of excessive inflammatory hormonal release, along with excessive prostaglandin E2, are more than capable of causing pains, stiffness, and cramps. The uncomfortable feeling may than spread like a plague and affect specific areas through specific and individual gene expressions. A painful erection is a bodily response to excessive inflammatory prostaglandin E2. Testicular pains are considered similar bodily responses to excessive inflammatory releases.

Scoliosis is a condition that may put a strain or alter specific nervous responses.

A firm flaccid condition may occur even if there is no actual tissue damage. It will develop through the lack of proper prostaglandin E1 E3 and NO levels for tissue elasticity and/or low androgen hormones.

“My questions are, first, could this problem be a symptom of chronic prostatitis like my urologist suggested? Or perhaps a biochemical imbalance?”

Yes, it could be both actually.

“Second, is there anything I should be doing to either ease symptoms or prevent damage? Am I in danger of permanent tissue damage? Are the alpha blockers helping or hurting me in this situation?”

Yes, there are several things.

There is a probability of tissue damage if left untreated for too long.

I can see why you were prescribed alpha blockers, however, they will prove to be of little assistance.

“Are there other supplements that could help me with this problem?”

Yes, a combination of Alpha-Amino, 5HTP-Nettle, GRB6-GABA, Multi-Alpha, Ultra-Purified-FishOil, and testicular temperature regulatory solutions will stabilize the nervous and endocrine functioning, promote normal modulation on stress and inflammatory hormonal release, dilate blood vessels, increase androgen hormones production, charge the CNS, and promote healthy release of prostaglandin E1 E3 and NO for healing.

You should also discontinue sexual activities for 1 to 3 months and massage the lower abdomen and pelvic area for additional blood flow.

I would first like to say that I appreciate and thank you for your time and that you are doing a wonderful service by providing this website, Dr. Richards.

I have a few questions regarding sexual exhaustion recovery and supplements, but first my backstory:
About 6-7 years ago, as a teen between the ages of 15-18, I without a doubt, was addicted to masturbation. I would masturbate several times a day to all sorts of pornography. I would say I masturbated at least 3 times a day on average, with random fluctuations of doing it and not doing it.

My sexual encounters began at around 17 and during this period I had erectile dysfunction problems; low sensitivity in my penis and I would become flaccid during the act. Unfortunately my masturbation habits continued and my problem never became better. I started taking herbal supplements to aid my erections, such as horny goat weed, ginkgo biloba, maca, tribulus, l-arginine, etc.

I also realized by not masturbating for a week prior to sex, my erections were stronger. It all helped my erection issues tremendously and I was able to achieve erections like never before (a more of a 11 o’clock position rather than a more horizontal position like 9 o’clock and my better erections seemed to never want to go down. I was a new experience for me, really). After breaking up with my partners my masturbation habits would continue until finally I stumbled upon an article online about sexual exhaustion. I was about 20 years old at this point.

I realized my problem had to have been sexual exhaustion and my masturbation habits have changed since. I had developed prostatitis from frequent masturbation. I was also experiencing the mood effects of sexual exhaustion, probably from low dopamine, but at the time I felt it was just because I was an introvert. I had little emotion, I felt little love, I had erectile dysfunction, I would avoid a lot of social interactions if I could, etc.

I finally overcame my struggle and greatly reduced my masturbation frequency. I now do it once a day, every other day, every two days, a total of 5 times a week etc.

I am now 22 and my ejaculation frequency is in the range you recommend ~3-4 times a week, sometimes 1-2 times more some weeks and sometimes only once other weeks. I can say I see improvement, especially with my new partner, in the area of erectile dysfunction. My mood has also considerably improved. My urinary problems are also better.

I am still not where I would like to be, however. I feel as though I could have considerably stronger erection quality. I last awhile due to lack of sensitivity, so to aid/maintain my erection and to speed up my ejaculation process, I squeeze my PC muscle often to make sure my erection doesn’t become flaccid. I am also worried that I won’t be able to maintain an erection with a condom on during intercourse because of the lack of sensitivity, as I haven’t had sex since I started to correct my problem.

I feel my problems will subside once I make a full recovery, but I also feel my progress has hit a plateau. My questions are:

1)Is it possible to make a full recovery from sexual exhaustion without complete abstinence? Maybe ejaculation by cause of your partner for once a week for a few weeks?

2)You list a recommended masturbation frequency on the webpage that is separated by masturbation and intercourse. Is ejaculation by means of your partner’s stimulation, (everything aside from actual vaginal intercourse, like oral sex or stimulation from their hand) fall under the masturbation category or intercourse category?

3)Would you recommend I continue to take my herbal supplements such as horny goat weed, maca, ginkgo biloba, tribulus terrestris, etc. as I try to make a full recovery?

4)After reading the cases posted here I decided to begin taking a male-multivitamin, amino complex, 5-htp, and gaba supplementation to help my recovery. I noticed the 5-htp and gaba deliver a pleasant drowsiness but that is all I can tell after two days of supplementation. Am I meant to notice any other differences from those two supplements?

5)Is squeezing my PC-muscle an okay habit?

ANSWER
Yes, you suffered and are still suffering from symptoms of sexual exhaustion. The unfortunate fact is that the complete recovery won’t come as quick as desired if the problem isn’t addressed in a specific manner. Some of the severe cases are only partially reversible, though.

1. It is possible, but will delay the progress.

2. Only sex (without a condom) is considered proper intercourse due to the recharging and supporting quality of the vaginal secretions on the local penile tissues, and proper bioenergy transfer. Oral stimulation will trigger slightly different hormonal releases than masturbation, but still won’t be efficient enough.

3. Excessive tribulus stimulates the pituitary function for more LH and FSH which in turn stimulate the testicular function. A high dose of tribulus will lead to sympathetic nervous fires. If your testicular function is partially or fully locked, tribulus won’t deliver the desired results at all, instead will trigger hot flushes.
Also lower the horny goat weed intake if not done already.

4. It depends on the specific GABA promoting formula, and other supplementation that you’re currently taking.

5. No, PC muscle is the last resort of a man to keep erection from dying. If over-trained, will lead to premature ejaculation through the sympathetic response.

Dear Dr. Richards,

I’ve had fairly severe prostatitis (as diagnosed by my Dr. after performing a digital rectal exam, and mentioning that my prostate is inflamed or “boggy”)for over 5 years – and I’m 29. At times, the pain is so intense as to interrupt my sleep and work. Symptoms include burning during urination and especially ejaculation. I also suffer from severe “fight or flight” type anxiety while going to the bathroom in public places (i basically CANNOT urinate unless i am completely alone, in a stall, sitting down). I’ve been treated with Cipro and Doxycycline for STDs/bacterial infections, to no avail. I’ve seen 3 urologists, had an intraveinous pylogram, CT scan, urothroscope, and various other painful and invasive procedures. All in all, I’ve spent thousands of dollars looking for some improvement, and have nothing to show for it – no structure, stones, cancer etc. This seems to compound the severe anxiety and at times depression i feel… until i found this site and read some of the symptoms of sexual exhaustion (which gave me a little bit of hope). i started masturbating at 10-11 yrs old, and masturbated at least once (and up to 7 times) every day until recently. The urologists and Dr.s are baffled. The funny thing is that i’ve been encouraged to keep on masturbating by my Dr.s to increase blood flow and get the antibiotics into my prostate.

My question is two-fold.

1) Could an STD cause prostatitis – if so what should i do to heal naturally? I mean, i get sinus infections and strep throat for a week or so, and they clear up on their own, without antibiotics. Why would my prostate be any different? Urine tests for gonorrhea and chlamydia continue to come back negative. The antibiotics don’t seem to help thus far. (I’ve only had unprotected oral sex – which makes me think my prostatitis is more “exhaustion” based).

2)Would an STD cause severe anxiety? (as experienced by those who suffer from sexual exhaustion). I honestly feel like my nervous system is completely shot. At times, i literally and physically tremble uncontrollably when stressed by work or relations.

All this began during a very reckless and stress filled time in my life in the spring of 2005.

Please, please, please help me… I don’t know how much longer i can endure this pain – it’s overwhelming at times. the way i describe it to my friends is that it’s a similar burning sensation to having lemon juice squeezed in your eye! (except, it’s my prostate of course) It ESPECIALLY hurts when my bladder is full (which feels like all the time). When i do urinate, it’s excruciating to begin, and at the end it drips out for almost 20 seconds (it’s like i can’t squeeze the last bit of urine out of my urethra).

Also, I have a forked urine stream, feel weak and exhausted/depressed most of the time, and (crazily as described on your site) i often wake up with my hands and forearms numb (almost like they’re “asleep” but i sleep on my back… it’s like they’re just not getting any blood flow when i sleep)

Could you describe exactly what’s (most likely) happening to my prostate, and what i should do?

He who sows to the flesh reaps corruption (abrasion at least) after all, i guess.

May God Bless You,

-A

p.s. I can’t believe that i would be much healthier and probably much more “masculine” had i not masturbated all this time… the ultimate irony. Growing up, you were a “man” (at least among my peers) if you looked at porn all the time and masturbated, and objectified women… what a joke!

ANSWER
I’m really sorry to hear of you problems.

“He who sows to the flesh reaps corruption”

That is true, doesn’t matter if are drugs, over-masturbation, over-eating, etc.
You have a chronic prostatitis, this means that it is less likely to be caused by any STD (except HIV). It gets even more strange to why were you prescribed antibiotics for a chronic prostatitis in the first place.

Here is what I consider the real problem here:

You’re completely sexually exhausted (I suggest you read the articles for more detailed explanations), have insufficient cholinergic, serotonine, dopamine, and GABA functions as well as blown nervous modulation and control over the inflammatory stress hormones prolactin, cortisol, prostaglandin E2, and dopamine-norepinephrine-epinephrine conversion. You are experiencing uncontrollable anxiety and stress because your nervous and endocrine systems are on constant alert. This is a vicious cycle that just leads to additional release of stress and inflammatory hormones, so can’t be broken by your already completely exhausted nervous modulation system. The excessive norepinephrine and epinephrine will induces even additional prostaglandin E2 production, which in turn suppresses the immune system and hypersensitizes the sympathetic nerves. The neuroimmune function is usually weakened and many internal organs are in a constant state of inflammation.

It makes sense that it started during a period of great stress that induced additional stress hormones to blow up the modulation completely. One more confirmation to the stated above is that you’re experiencing Parkinson’s symptoms.

In addition – the high levels of the inflammatory prolactin, along with testicular exhaustion will lead to a deficiency of androgen hormones, causing a bunch of other symptoms.

Your prostate and urethra are severely abraded by the poor quality of ejaculation fluid and semen, which do not contain sufficient Prostaglandin E1. Prostaglandin E1 itself is very beneficial to the nearby tissues, acting as a nervous rejuvenation drug and an anti-cancer agent. If the quality of your EF and semen is poor, the contraction force with which they come out can be extremely destructive for the nerves and tissues of the prostate and the urethra. Any internal abrasion is extremely difficult to detect by today’s medical tests and procedures. Your symptoms are a complete UFO for most of the urologists nowadays. They will just prescribe something that they think can counteract the symptoms and will grossly overlook the cause. Many of the things I write about are severely neglected by the medical community.
To conclude, your prostate is enlarged, inflamed, and abraded. That’s why you are experiencing pains. Keep in mind that an abrasion accompanied with such pains is dangerous, so you should be quick to act.

The things you may and should do are:

1. Discontinue any sexual activity for 1 to 3 months.
2. Take massages to increase the proper blood circulation.
3. Balance your diet.
4. Restore your nervous modulation on your inflammatory hormones release, jump start your CNS, increase prostaglandin E1 E3 and NO levels for healing, unlock your hypothalamus-pituitary-testicular axis and rewrite the negative neuroplasticity you’ve developed by using a set of specific supplements.
5. As for prostate, you may naturally reduce the DHT that is binding to it and making it grow.
Wish you a fast recovery!

I plan on keeping a weekly journal with any improvements/changes and will keep this link posted! I will start right away (just bought some fish oil and borage oil from the local health food store). Thanks again! I’m otherwise very healthy, and athletic (6’4, 200lbs) so hopefully i can get back to normal over the next few months/years!

UPDATE
Ok – quick question… since I’ve not been masturbating for about 4 weeks now (I stopped about three weeks prior to finding this site on my own just due to the pain) I’ve noticed that my urine is extremely “foamy” or “frothy”, especially when I urinate in the morning upon waking up. It’s almost as if there’s a “head” on it, like a beer (except with larger/medium sized bubbles)… should this be a cause for concern – this is a recent and odd development. What might be the cause of this?

ANSWER
It is normal, that is if not chronically observed. The possible causes are:
• Rapid urination: mostly observed in the morning when you’ve been holding the urine for a long time.
• Dehydration: just try to drink more fluids and see if there’s a change. Sexual exhaustion can burden the hypothalamus, also responsible for metabolic processes and other activities. You may not even feel thirsty and be dehydrated.
• Excessive protein in the urine (Proteinuria): it is possible to occur through heightened intake of certain foods like fish, chicken. Other possible causes are considered: kidney damage or gallbladder problems. Note that chronically elevated levels of prostaglandin E2 and epinephrine will damage many internal organs, including the gallbladder and the kidneys, so they may not work as effectively as before. Organs used to work under heightened levels of certain inflammatory hormones may take some time to adapt properly.

Try drinking lots of fluids, balance your protein intake, urinate slower, and see if there are any improvements.

If not, you may consider urinalysis and additional tests to determine the exact cause of the problem.

UPDATE
Well, the good news is that i slept for 7 hours last night without waking up to urinate… I’ve probably done that less than 20 times over the past 5 years, as i usually have to wake up at least once or twice to urinate. i believe my symptoms are improving slightly, but it is definitely slow going. one improvement i have noticed is that i seem to have less “dripping” when i finish urinating – i’m able to squeeze the last few drops out normally rather than manually. i also feel marginally calmer, and more relaxed.

two follow-up questions

1)is it possible that an undiagnosed STD is causing prostaglandin E2 production. i.e. a “which came first, the chicken or the egg” type question. obviously, over masturbation is incredibly destructive, but could an std just compound or actually be the cause of the prostatitis? i’m just wondering if taking an antibiotic “just in case” would be helpful. My doctor recomended Bactrim, but i haven’t filled the prescription, because i really don’t want to take an antibiotic if my prostatitis isn’t caused by a bacterial infection. it’s so confusing, trying to “do the right thing.”

2) i lift weights regularly, surf, go to yoga, etc. (i live in southern california). Surfing is especially exhilerating, and i always notice that my symptoms seem to spike after surfing – is this because of the adrenalizing effects of surfing (if so, i should probably quit for a few months)? i guess my question is, what types of exercise are ok during recovery. weight lifting always makes me feel better, i train hard – but i don’t take supplements or overdo it.

i just want to get better as quickly as possible. thanks again!

ANSWER
There seems to be some progress but you have to keep in mind that it is a generally slow process. You ware to observe improvements one after another, it will take time, though. Remember how many years it took you to exhaust your organism in the first place.

1) A chronic prostatitis (in your case 5 years) is unlikely to be caused by any STD except HIV. You should try taking the antibiotic. If there is no improvement it will be advisable to discontinue the administration.

2) You should avoid doing things that promote an excessive epinephrine release since you have to improve the modulation on stress and inflammatory response.

Light to moderate exercises are beneficial. Acute or prolonged weight lifting (more than 60 minutes) is to be avoided.

UPDATE
Well, two weeks have gone by… i’ve been taking the prescribed supplements, and have not “caved” into taking the Bactrim prescribed for me about a month ago yet (because i don’t think it’ll work… because i’m not sure that my affliction is caused by a bacteria!)

Improvements continue, although the healing process is understandably slow. A few days agp, I had back to back nights of uninterrupted sleep, which was amazing.

I haven’t masturbated, been with a woman, looked at porn, fantasized, or really even had an erection in about 6 weeks (unbelievable, but true) i guess when you feel searing pain upon urination and ejaculation, it has a way of “taming” the compulsion… maybe like a smoker with throat/lung cancer. You start to see the folly of your ways, and hope there’e enough time to repent as you come to your senses.

As far as symptoms go, I still have the “urgency” to urinate frequently, and I do go frequently, but the “burning” upon urination has diminished quite a bit, and I’m very, very encouraged by this improvement. Some days are better than others, but for the first time (here and there) I’ve been able to urinate with almost no complications, which practically brought tears of joy to my eyes (i called my friends, too, because i was so happy).

As a Christian, what’s helped me the most is realizing the errors of my ways, repenting, and asking God’s forgiveness for all the crap I’ve done to my body. I’ve been struggling with sexual compulsion/addiction for almost twenty years, and through God’s chastening (because He loves us), I’m finally coming to my senses. Looing back, I can’t believe some of the things I used to do and think. My mind and thoughts are actually changing, the LUST IS DIMINISHING, and I’m less anxious, less depressed, and less afraid of social interaction with strangers. It’s weird to look at a woman, and not lust after her, but at the same time appreciate her beauty, like looking at a sunset or something.

I also began attending SAA meetings (Sex Addicts Anonymous) locally, and they’ve been really helpful, too. I go once a week, and it’s great to be with others who are struggling with the same thing.

One last thing i’ve done that Dr. Richards encouraged was to change my diet. After reading about all the hormones in milk and red meat, I haven’t really touched the stuff in about 4 weeks. I’ve mostly been eating raw, uncooked fruits and veggies. It def. takes some getting used to, but I feel so much better, and i have much more energy. Asparugus I feel is especially helpful for me for some reason (maybe it’s in my head)… it would be interesting to test all the fruits and veggies in the world for their prostaglandin effects, and them list them like we do their chemical content (e.g. spinach is known for having iron).

Anyways, i’m getting better… Thanks again!

p.s. QUICK QUESTION regarding antibiotics – do antibiotics “cure” us, or do they just keep the bacteria at bay long enough for our own immune system to “cure” us?

ANSWER
I’m glad to hear of your progress.
You don’t crave sex through the diminished levels of excitatory and inflammatory hormones in the brain and internal organs. It is an indication that your sex drive was driven by the wrong factors.

You are currently recovering your proper neuroplasticity, which when restored and functional will promote a healthy non-obsessive (yet stronger) sex drive.

Congratulations on the way you are optimizing your diet, it will prove be highly beneficial.
There are different classes of antibiotics. However, they will not cure you, they will just assist your immune system if the problem is bacterial in nature. Actually there is nothing that “cures” you except your own immune system. There is no drug yet invented to be able to get you rid off just one viral infection by itself. All the work is done by the extremely advanced and complicated immune system. That is why it is difficult to invent cure for HIV since it targets the system itself.

I’d love to hear from you again!

UPDATE
(Week 6 follow-up)
Hi Dr. Richards!
I hope you’re doing well… it’s exciting to see the site expanding as it has, in such a small amount of time. Thank you so much for helping us! Thank you…

I wanted to give you a quick update, as I’ve stayed on course!
1) I saw my local Dr. last week and he re-checked my prostate as a follow-up from 8 weeks ago. He stated that my prostate had “shrunk”! He also let me know that it no longer felt swollen or boggy. I asked him directly whether or not he would have believed i had prostatitis 8 weeks earlier by feeling my prostate the way it is now, and he said no – because it felt “fine.” So, i think that’s pretty good news! He said it would have been very difficult to diagnose me with prostatitis had he not felt the inflammation for himself 8 weeks ago. He smiled, and stated “the antibiotics must be working.” He seemed annoyed when i told him that I hadn’t taken them at all… He stated and I quote “90 percent of the time, prostatitis is caused by an STD” He then strongly recommended (again) that I masturbate at least once a week to get “cell turnover” in my prostate… Needless to say NO WONDER it’s taken me 5 years to get better, because i keep listening to my Dr.s!

2) I did masturbate once a week ago, because I felt i was getting better, and just wanted to check if it “burned” when i ejaculated like i used to… it didn’t! That was just one time, just to see if it would burn (curiosity got the better of me) More good news, i guess…

3) This may sound odd, but i have a very keen sense of smell… and my urine smells more “normal” now. Not like ammonia/onions. When my prostatitis got really bad, my urine smelled awful! my urine now smells the way i remember it smelling from my childhood… almost a “sweet” kind of smell, not putrid.

4) I am able to urinate with more velocity, and I’ve noticed that my urethra doesn’t seem to be as swollen as it used to be, because my urine doesn’t split into two streams as it used to. I’ve been measuring the volume of my urine as well in the morning… now i urinate about 750 ml in the morning, only waking up ONCE in the middle of the night if i have to. I used to urinate when my bladder was around 200-300 ml full, 2-3 times a night.

5) I still have the urgency to urinate off and on, with better days and worse days… but the “burning” continues to subside.

And Finally, a Question for You, Dr. R –

While my immediate pain symptoms continue to improve (slowly), I still for the life of me cannot pee in a public place, unless i’m in a stall. At home, i’m beginning to pee normally again, without having to sit down each time. I understand this is from my parasympathetic nervous system being shot, but will i ever have the “nerve” to pee like a man again, without my fight or flight response overwhelming me when i urinate in a public restroom? how long would you estimate it takes the parasympathetic nervous system to recover to the point that this becomes a non-issue… it’s kind of embarrassing to me that I have to use a stall… i just feel very VULNERABLE when i’m not in a stall, and my body just CAN’T relax yet enough to urinate, even if i really, really have to go! What exactly is happening in this specific situation? Why can’t i just WILL myself to pee?

Thanks again! i look forward to hearing back soon!

Always a pleasure to hear of you progress in such a detailed manner.
You are currently transforming your neuroplasticity to a positive one. The inter neuronal connections have been developed and ordered to process information in a specific manner. You may experience severe difficulties in rewriting their work to induce proper (by what you consider a proper response) responses in certain situations.

To do that, you must be constantly trying to achieve your goal. Actually, the prostaglandin E2 that will be released in stressful situations will aid your nervous system in rewriting specific responses. The fact is that if you present an external irritant, as to say excessive reading, the induced prostaglandin E2 will actually help your neuronal connections create a whole new internal network to support your activities in a more efficient manner. So the change in the neuroplasticity will help you read faster and remember more information the next day. It is like a mind and nervous training, or as a positive brainwash – a two edged blade, just don’t overdo it. And there you go, very frequently one will not have the conscious control over similar nervous responses to external irritants.

It will take some time to alter the negative neuroplasticity that has been formed and reinforced for so many years, but the persistence will be rewarded.

(Week 8 follow-up)
Still holdin’ on… 8 weeks into the healing process. I think I continue to improve – but very, very slowly.
I was hoping to be “completely healed” by now… certainly, i thought, 2 months is enough time to recover from any sickness or irritation.

I am realizing that my recovery is more along the lines of a recovering bulimic, whose esophagus has been eroded from years and years of vomiting. On countless occasions, i’ve literally masturbated until there was no ejaculate left in me.

I guess my prostatitis probably isn’t going to heal “just like that.”

Dr. Richards, please go into a little more detail regarding the following:

“Restore your nervous modulation on your inflammatory hormones release, and jump start your CNS, increase Prostaglandin E1 E3 and NO levels for healing, UNLOCK (emphasis mine) your hypothalamus-pituitary-testicular axis by taking the proper supplements”

I see this mentioned in your recommendations often, and I’ve searched the web for weeks trying to understand this better. I’ve heard it described by Dr. Lin (another online doctor who seems to specialize in sexual exhaustion) as a car-battery that’s too depleted to start the car, and in turn, can’t recharge itself.

My questions are:

1) How and why does the hypothalamus-pituitary-testicular axis become “locked” in the first place?

2) How long, after taking the supplements, will it take to unlock?
Ideally, i’d like to be a helpful case study of sorts for you – documenting an approximate healing time for severe prostatitis “most likely” caused by sexual exhaustion, as i’ve exhibited most of the symptoms listed on your website (anxiety/depression, trembling, prostatitis, negative bacteria urinalysis, over-masturbation, etc.).

Thanks again for your help!

Also, please recommend for me the appropriate “new” supplements, as the original supplements have been removed from your first response.

Double thanks, again…

ANSWER
Always a pleasure.

“1) How and why does the hypothalamus-pituitary-testicular axis become “locked” in the first place?”

The increased levels of cortisol, prostaglandin E2, norepinephrine, epinephrine, and especially prolactin after ejaculation will negatively affect the levels of GnRH, LH and FSH, and together with the arterial inflammation and constriction will kill testicular function as well as hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal-testicular axis’ proper functioning. Less androgens to modulate inflammatory response, testicular tissue health, insulin resistance, energy levels, tissue and testicular health, proper nts. and hormonal conversions, and neurotransmitters homeostasis will result in even more vicious cycle of inflammation to suppress them even further through low dopamine levels and chronically high prolactin. The overactive sexual activities will slowly drain the organism of its potential for rejuvenation.

“2) How long, after taking the supplements, will it take to unlock?”

The functions of hypothalamic-pituitary-testicular axis in sexually exhausted individuals improves after about 2 to 3 weeks when finally the inflammatory hormones levels are brought down. However, there are many problems to deal with, like the unstable responses of ones organism to sexual stimulations because of local tissue damage, negative neuroplasticity, and still existent neurostransmitter and hormonal imbalances. So similar extra inflammatory responses to sexual stimulation may occur even with minor triggers.

“Also, please recommend for me the appropriate “new” supplements, as the original supplements have been removed from your first response.”

The old products were quite effective in dealing with the ill cycle of inflammation and proper nervous and endocrine functioning restoration. In your case Alpha-Amino, 5HTP-Nettle, GRB6-GABA, Alpha-AGH, Multi-Alpha, Ultra-Purified-FishOil, and testicle temperature regulation will prove to be of even greater assistance.

Good day to you dr. Richards. I have chronic prostatitis. Also very weak erections plus burning and tingling. I became a chronic masturbator around the age of 12 but got worse (even more masturbation) around the age of 17. Now I’m 22 and have some pretty severe problems and have to watch my friends go have fun with their girls when I sit with my broken penis at home full with inferiority complexes… damn I hate what I’ve done to myself and didn’t even realized it until I read what’s written on this site. I have additional symptoms like ringing ears and penile curvature downside. I’ve stopped the masturbation but I wonder how much time will pass until I start to see an improvement. I was wondering if I should buy a stretcher to straighten my penis, since they are said to may have fix these things. Also what do ya think? What herbal supplements may I need in this specific case. Thanks.

ANSWER
You are suffering from sexual exhaustion. The chronic prostate abrasion is caused by the poor quality semen blasting on the ejaculation duct. You have exhausted your hypothalamic and adrenal dopamine-norepinephrine conversion. You have also castrated your hypothalamus-pituitary-testicular axis and most probably have high levels of prostaglandin E2 induced by excessive norepinephrine.

When you have your adrenal and testicular function disabled, you will have to rely solely on your skin’s neruoendocrine function to elevate your androgen hormones. It may take a long time to completely recover from sexual exhaustion and post-sex inflammation.

The lack of blood flow and androgen hormones degenerate the penile tissues. The damaged tissues gradually became scarred, thus leading to your penile bending. So, to your question about the stretcher I would say – no, don’t use it to straighten your penis, simply because it will not do the job (even though initially it may seem it’s working). The more you stretch the inelastic and damaged erectile tissues, the more collagen protein will be released, which will lead to even more increased scar tissue development.

The thing you should be most aware of is that the inflammatory hormone prostaglandin E2 can potentiate the adrenal dopamine-noreinephrine-epinephrine conversion mechanism, thus leading to mutual amplification cycle, which must be broken.

You must greatly reduce ejaculation to once a month to keep more semen inside your seminal vesicles for nervous replenishment. This will also help you reduce pelvic inflammation via increasing your retention of androgen hormones, serotonin and GABA in semen.

Supplements that are sure to assist you are:
Multi-Alpha, Alpha-Amino, TRP-Nettle, and Ultra-Purified-FishOil
Testicle cooling procedures will also prove to be beneficial by increasing your androgens.
All of the above will help you gradually rejuvenate your neuro-endocrine function, promote your dopamine, cholinergic, serotonin and GABA nervous function, reduce your stress and inflammatory hormone production, and boost your prostaglandin E-1/E-3 and Nitric Oxide production for healing.

I’ve been taking the supplements you prescribed me for 2 weeks now. I’ve noticed some improvement, especially with my nocturnal erections and sleep but I wonder if I can speed up the process?
