my other symptoms are thin hair, hairloss since i was 16, frequent urination, and weak erections. the tingling is messing up with my recovery though so it’s the biggest problem i suppose.

thank you so very much!!

ANSWER
The most probable cause for similar sensations would be excessive norepinephrine (as a result of increased dopamine-norepinephrine-epinephrine conversions due to the abstinence period) and its induced excessive inflammatory/excitatory prostaglandin E2 and histamine for burning sensations and persistent sexual arousal.

It’s similar to PSAS conditions with the exception that you actually suffer from lowered androgens and the prolactin release is working as intended for 4-7 days. Note that messed neurotransmitter / hormone / neurohormone ratio remains the main cause but is being “revealed” more notably through the itching/burning sensations you experience later on.

I am 22 years old and started masterbating early in life. In the last 2 years I really over did it and began to experience some weird stuff. First I stopped getting any morning or nighttime erections. Then when I would have sex with girls I would usually have trouble getting an erection and if I did it often went limp. And then to make matters worse I started having severe PE sometimes less then ten seconds. This is when I knew something was wrong because the first couple years that I had sex it would take me forever to ejaculate. I did not know what to do and went to several doctors. All of them told me it was mental and not to stress. I would get so mad because I am not someone who gets performance anxiety…..I LOVE SEX! After several months some new symptoms started to arrive. I began to feel depressed, anxious, and one day out of nowhere started to urinate up to 12 times per day! I began to do more research and found your site along with a different sexual exhaustion site run by some guy named Dr. Lin. I read every single article on both yours and his site and everything came together and absolutely explained my symptoms. Of course I am very scared that iv ruined my life and will do anything it takes to get better. I have some questions

1) which products do you recommend for my case?

2) since acetycholine is the main neurotransmitter on the parasympathetic nervous system should someone supplement with alpha gpc or cdp choline to increase it?

3) Since part of the problem is low androgens wouldn’t it be beneficial to take something like clomid or HCG along with your treatment? Iv seen you recommend it to others who have testosterone below 300 but couldn’t it help people with higher testosterone as well?

4) also the one part i don’t understand behind the whole sexual exhaustion situation is this
“low levels of dopamine, and excessive prolactin that shuts down the testicular function, leading to failure in the parasympathetic nervous recharging system.”

Does this mean that testosterone plays some role in fixing the parasympathetic nervous system? Can you please explain this to me. I understand the role of the neurotransmitters but fail to understand the role of testosterone.
Thank you Dr. Richards your site has given me hope that my life is still salvageable.

Yours truly,
Alex

ANSWER
Alex,

Yes, through over active sexual activities, genetic, and lifestyle factors you’ve depleted vital neurochemicals and are currently experiencing the consequences.

Given the specific problems I would say that you suffer from abnormal serotonin, dopamine, acetylcholine, and GABA levels, as well as improper nervous modulation on inflammatory response.

“1) which products do you recomend for my case?”

For the specific case, a combination of: Alpha-Amino, Multi-Alpha, 5HTP-Nettle, GRB6-GABA, and Ultra-Purified-FishOil will better nervous and endocrine functioning, stabilize proper acetylcholine, serotonin, dopamine, and GABA levels, aid proper modulation on inflammatory response, stabilize proper hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal-testicular functioning, increase androgens, alter numerous gene expressions, and rewrite the developed negative neuroplasticity.

After you’ve observed symptoms improvement you may want to consider using uBreeze for additionally increased androgens. Improved erectile power will actually slightly desensitize the penis and address the symptoms experienced.

“2) since acetycholine is the main neurotransmitter on the parasympathetic nervous system sould someone supplement with alpha gpc or cdp choline to increase it?”

One may supplement with the substance and experience positive results, in fact, there are quantities of choline in Male-Multi-Alpha. However, for this case, important is considered the proper serotonin-GABA modulation on inflammatory response for proper cortisol, glutamate, prostaglandin E2, histamine, norepinephrine, and epinephrine levels and control over the excessive dopamine-norepinephrine-epinephrine conversions.

“3)Since part of the problem is low androgens wouldnt it be beneficial to take something like clomid or HCG along with your treatment? Iv seen you recomend it to others who have testosterone below 300 but couldnt it help people with higher testosterone as well?”

An optimum line to the effect is usually present. Basically, the higher the natural testosterone, the less beneficial will clomid prove to be, as far as the recovery goes.

“4) also the one part i dont understand behind the whole sexual exhaustion situation is this “low levels of dopamine, and excessive prolactin that shuts down the testicular function, leading to failure in the parasympathetic nervous recharging system.” Does this mean that testosterone plays some role in fixing the parasympathetic nervous system? Can you please explain this to me. I understand the role of the neurotransmitters but fail to understand the role of testosterone.”

Yes, androgens and testosterone in particular are crucial for proper functioning. Less androgens to modulate inflammatory response, testicular tissue health, insulin resistence, energy levels, tissue and testicular health, proper nts. and hormonal conversions, and neurotransmitters homeostasis will result in numerous imbalances.

Thank you so much for this amazing and informative site. For the last few months I have been so shocked and confused about what has been going on to my body and it wasn’t until i read every article on your site that I got to the bottom of it.I am 20 years old. I started masturbating at an early age but kept my frequency in the 5 to 7 times per week range. however for most of 2009 I smoked alot of marijuana and increased my ejaculation frequency to 2-4 times per day. I did not experience any problems for a while until early this year sometime in January/February. I began to experience Brutal premature ejaculation where as before i could easily last 30 to 40 minutes! after this I began experiencing more and more cases of erectile dysfunction. I had no idea what was going on so i kept masturbating. It wasn’t till about April that i discovered something called sexual exhaustion from another site. I have since completely quit masturbation and have only had sex about once a week. However no improvements have been made. As a matter of fact my symptoms got worse!! I began to experience frequent urination, eye floaters, and shortness of breath. Not to mention depression( but mostly because I’m sexually exhausted and i am very scared). In the last week my Gf has left me and I’m 200 percent committed to beating this. i want my life back!!

1) What products would you recommend for me?
2) I have seen that you recommend sexual abstinence for 2 to 4 weeks and sometimes 2 months to other guys, but what if i decided to abstinent for many months while healing maybe even a year. Would this be good or bad for Sexual Exhaustion?
3) I know that sexual exhaustion is a serious condition and may take many months if not years to heal but what are signs of progress and how often do they usually take to show up?
4) Have there ever been cases that you had that weren’t able to reverse the condition? If so why do you think this was?
Thank you Dr. Richards your work and this site truly can help a lot of people know the truth about overactive masturbation and damage there doing. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Sincerly,
Tom

ANSWER
Tom, I appreciate your kind words.

The symptoms described are indicative of a mild case of sexual exhaustion. As the problem is properly addressed one will eventually recover. You may take a look Here, and Here if haven’t already.

“1) What products would you recommend for me?”

A combination of Alpha-Amino, 5HTP-Nettle, GRB6-GABA, Multi-Alpha, and Ultra-Purified-FishOil to stabilize proper acetylcholine, serotonin, dopamine, and GABA levels, better serotonin-GABA nervous modulation on inflammatory response and lower excitatory prostaglandin E2 in prostate and penile tissues, modulate proper hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal-testicular functioning, modulate dopamine-norepinephrine-epinephrine conversions, increase prostaglandin E1 E3 and Nitric Oxide, alter numerous gene expressions, and rewrite the negative neuroplasticity developed.
Also, beneficial will prove to be: regular exercise, proper diet, negative ion exposure, massages, and positive attitude.

“2) I have seen that you recommend sexual abstinence for 2 to 4 weeks and sometimes 2 months to other guys, but what if i decided to abstinent for many months while healing maybe even a year. Would this be good or bad for Sexual Exhaustion?”

It may prove counter indicative if there are low GABA levels present in the brain. Overly prolonged abstinence will result in heightened dopamine levels, which through dopamine-norepinephrine conversions may result in anxiety and heart palpitations. Also, excessive androgens and even inflammatory hormones and neurohormones may accumulate if you are not actively working out. However, if you sustain healthy GABA levels and work out regularly, the prolonged abstinence (for 3 to 5 months) may result in faster recovery. Not only that, but the sexual drive and capabilities may reach an unprecedented peak.

“3) I know that sexual exhaustion is a serious condition and may take many months if not years to heal but what are signs of progress and how often do they usually take to show up?”

In the specific case, the shortness of breath will resolve rather quickly. The premature ejaculation will resolve gradually, however, through the abstinence you won’t be able to monitor the progress. You are to observe dramatic improvement, as far as premature ejaculation goes, after 1 to 3 months. The prostate and penile tissues will restore proper functioning and the proper excitatory prostaglandin E2 levels will be restored. The feeling will be pleasurable, but you won’t even be able to ejaculate as fast. The eye floaters should be the last of the symptoms to resolve gradually in several months.

“4) Have there ever been cases that you had that weren’t able to reverse the condition? If so why do you think this was?”

Yes, however, such cases are usually associated with chronic drug or alcohol abuse for severe nervous, endocrine, and organ damage, or/and cases of sexual exhaustion that persisted for 5 to 20 years and permanently drained ones body of its potential for rejuvenation.

Glad if I could help!

ANSWER
Yes, the symptoms are indicative of a moderate case of sexual exhaustion. It is quite unfortunate to suffer from similar problems after just a year of not that heavy masturbation. Through individual gene expressions and environmental factors, however, one may become exhausted more easily than other.

The symptoms described are indicative of a faulty hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal-testicular axis functioning for less androgens to power sexual activities, modulate proper parasympathetic activity and spontaneous erections, and improper testicular functioning to result in watery ejaculation. The lack of vital neurochemicals will also result in a firm flaccid condition, even if there is no damage to the penile tissues – this will be especially obvious if one experiences the more severe form in an upright position. The hair loss is usually indicative of heightened testosterone-DHT conversions and artery narrowing. The frequent urination usually indicates improper levels of arginine vasopressin, as well as possible mild prostatic inflammation through excessive prostaglandin E2 and DHT in the local tissues. The proper memory functioning relies on many neurochemicals, however, poor memory is usually connected to improper acetylcholine, serotonin, and dopamine levels that are the first to be depleted by over active sexual activities.

Yes, moderate cases of sexual exhaustion are usually fully reversible if the problems are addressed properly to avoid any negative feeback reactions.

For the specific case, a combination of Alpha-Amino, Alpha-AGH, Multi-Alpha, and Ultra-Purified-FishOil will restore proper nervous and endocrine functioning, stabilize acetylcholine, serotonin, and dopamine levels, better hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal-testicular functioning for increased androgens and testicular functioning restoration, lower inflammatory response for proper blood flow, restore proper testosterone-DHT conversions, increase prostaglandin E1 E3 and Nitric Oxide, alter numerous gene expressions, and restore positive neuroplasticity.

Testicular cooling will prove to be effective in additionally increasing androgens.

Also, beneficial will prove to be: regular exercise, proper diet, negative ion exposure, massages, and sexual abstinence for 2 to 4 weeks.

Glad if I could help!

Doc, thanks for the quick reply…I also forgot to tell you that aside from weak erections…I’m also experiencing some form of premature ejaculation…do the products that you have mentioned above that I should be taking could also tackle my PE problem?…

ANSWER
One will need to add 5HTP-Nettle to the equasion to address the issue.
UPDATE
thank you Doctor, I am ordering the products that you have recommended however, I also noticed that there is some scarring at the shaft of my penis…Is it possible that I have injured my penis?…If yes, do you have any medications to dissolve this scar formation?…
And finally, how many months will I be expected to be cure from this type of sexual exhaustion…
Thank you….

ANSWER
“I also noticed that there is some scarring at the shaft of my penis…Is it possible that I have injured my penis?…If yes, do you have any medications to dissolve this scar formation?…”

Yes, penile damage is not a rare occurrence in sexually exhausted individuals. The imbalance, caused by the exhaustion itself, will make ones penis significantly more prone to injuries through the decreased elasticity prostaglandin E1, Nitric Oxide, and androgens, and increased prostaglandin E2. So, even a minor trauma by masturbation itself will be able to trigger excessive response for a collagen tissue release.

“And finally, how many months will I be expected to be cure from this type of sexual exhaustion…”

Improvements are observed during the first 1 to 2 weeks. As for a complete recovery, it may vary greatly from individual to individual. The average expectancy for the specific case should be 3 to 6 months.

5 months later and until now, I am experiencing weak erections…I only get strong erections when I am touching my penis but when I leave it alone it became the erections becomes weak…Also, I’ve noticed that my penis has shrank…and I am experiencing problems like fatigue, body weakness frequent urination…and some memory loss and dizziness also..
I used to envy my college days that when I saw a girl’s skirt…I experienced very strong and firm erections…

Could you help in getting back sex life back
Thank You.

ANSWER
Yes, the problems are indicative of a moderate case of sexual exhaustion. You’ve burned more neurochemicals your body can restore and gradually altered the neuroplasticity to a negative one.

The altered acetylcholine, serotonin, dopamine, and GABA levels, along with the inflammatory response through the sexual activities gradually exhausted your organism. The symptoms described are indicative of improper hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal-testicular functioning for less androgens and possibly mild adrenal exhaustion for fatigue, dizziness, and general weakness. The frequent urination is a direct effect of altered arginine vasopressin levels, which is usually connected to heightened prostaglandin E2 and inflammatory response. The memory loss and brain are probably affected through low adrenal functioning, as well as improper levels of vital neurotransmitters, such as acetylcholine, serotonin, and dopamine.
The symptoms must be addressed corectly in their root to avoid any negative feedback reactions and end the usually self supporting cycle of exhaustion and inflammation.

In the specific case, a combination of Alpha-Amino, Multi-Alpha, Alpha-HGH, Ultra-Purified-FishOil will restore the proper nervous and endocrine functioning, better the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal-testicular axis functioning for increased androgens and properly modulated adrenals, lower and modulate inflammatory response through the stabilization of proper androgens, acetylcholine, serotonin, dopamine, GABA, and androgens levels, increase prostaglandin E1 E3 and Nitric Oxide levels, alter numerous gene expressions, and rewrite the negative neuroplasticity developed.

Testicular cooling for additionally increased androgens is also to be considered.

Also, beneficial will prove to be: light exercise, proper diet, negative ion exposure, positive attitude, massages, and sexual abstinence for 2 to 4 weeks.

Glad if I could help!

UPDATE
Doc, I also notice that there is some collagen tissue formation at the head of my penis…and I also experienced some testicular pain…Did I injure myself due to excessive masturbation?…

ANSWER
It is possible. Usually, sexual exhaustion makes ones penis more prone to injuries through the lowered androgens, nitric oxide, and prostaglandin E1 levels (responsible for penile tissue health). All of the above, along with the heightened inflammatory response, may lead to collagen tissue release even after minor tissue irritations.

UPDATE
So, If I have indeed injured myself…are the supplements recommended above is enough to reverse any penile injuries that I have experienced due to excessive masturbation?

“So, If I have indeed injured myself…are the supplements recommended above is enough to reverse any penile injuries that I have experienced due to excessive masturbation?”

May consider using SR-Cream applied on the base of the penis to additionally address the issue as well as possible. It will increase prostaglandin E1 and Nitric Oxide locally, sensitize the penis, and better the erection quality. Internal mild hematomas or collagen scar tissue will be dissolved.

The symptoms that you describe in your sexual exhaustion article are identical to many of the symptoms I have felt for the last 13 years, I am now 33. I have severe chronic pain in my joints and soft tissue, I have low libido and suffer from sexual exhaustion after sex, fatigue, frequent urination, brain fog, sometime difficulty with balance and even twitching or shaking. You mention in your article what needs to be fixed in order to repair these symptoms (see below) but I would like to know exactly what to do. No one has ever been able to help me and things just seem to get worse.

‘The solution is to help your neuro-endocrine function and stabilize your serotonin and GABA nervous modulation on the Fight or Flight responses. You must also recharge your parasympathetic nervous system and boost your prostaglandin E-1 , E-3, oxytocin and Nitric Oxide production for healing’.

Thanks
Thomas

ANSWER
Thomas,
Yes, the symptoms you describe are frequently associated with sexual exhaustion. The chronically abnormal acetylcholine, serotonin, dopamine, and GABA levels, as well as weakened modulation on inflammatory response for excessive epinephrine, norepinephrine, cortisol, histamine, glutamate, and prostaglandin E2 levels are in the root of every problem described. Chronically observed excessive inflammatory response is a self supporting condition that has to be broken by addressing every problem to avoid negative feedback reactions.

To answer your question:
It differs, there are numerous phases of sexual exhaustion. By the symptoms described I would say that you suffer from a moderate case of sexual exhaustion. The low libido and exhaustion after sex is a direct indication of heightened prolactin levels, as well as borderline androgens, which is frequently indicative of abnormal hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal-testicular axis and mainly dopamine abnormalities. The brain fog, twitching, and shaking is indicative of severe abnormalities in acetylcholine, serotonin, dopamine, and GABA levels, as well as heightened inflammatory response. The frequent urination is most probably a case of inflamed of enlarged prostate as a result of excessive testosterone-DHT conversions, or/and poor blood flow and artery constriction in the area.

In the specific case, a combination of Alpha-Amino, GRB6-GABA, 5HTP-Nettle, Multi-Alpha, Alpha-AGH, and Ultra-Purified-FishOil will better nervous and endocrine functioning, stabilize acetylcholine, serotonin, dopamine, and GABA levels, aid serotonin-GABA modulation on inflammatory response for proper epinephrine, norepinephrine, histamine, glutamate, cortisol, and prostaglandin E2 levels, better hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal-testicular axis functioning, increase androgens, lower prolactin and stabilize libido, jump start the CNS, increase prostaglandin E1 E3 and Nitric Oxide levels, alter numerous gene expressions, and rewrite the negative neuroplasticity developed with the years.

You may also consider solutions to additionally increase androgens.

There are also numerous activities and lifestyle changes that may aid the recovery process, such as: exercise, proper diet, positive attitude, negative ion exposure, massages, and sexual abstinence for 2 to 4 weeks.

Glad if I could help!

Hello Dr I’ve just found your site and really hope you can help me.

Around 5 months ago i started doing some supposed penis enlargement exercises called jelqing,i was doing these for a month or so when i noticed my penis was feeling quite hard inside in its flaccid state and the hardness would change throughout the day and would become worse if I’m in a standing and not seated position have you come across this before and could you help me with it?

Not long after i also noticed that the shaft of my penis seems to have lost sensation, there is feeling in my skin and the veins inside but basically none in the tissue itself, will tissue damage heal in time?what can i do to help it along?

Also the shaft has what i thought were just bruises but its been a couple of months now and they are still there, are these collagen scars what can be done about them?

The shaft skin also feels very loose and when i pull out the skin and let go it doesn’t return to normal straight away what is the cause of this Dr?

When this first happened i could only manage around a 40-50% erection but am now able to get a fully strong erection that stands about 1pm while I’m standing and i do usually get some form of sleeping erections and morning wood.

Another problem that occurred at the same time is frequent urination and insomnia are these related also i have been abstaining but last time i ejaculated my semen was very watery and I’m also suffering from premature ejaculation.

Are all these problems related Dr?how can just doing some jelqing cause all of this and if i keep abstaining will the firm flaccid and other symptoms fade away as the erection problem did? Thank you for you help Dr.

ANSWER
Hello,

Yes, enlargement traumas are quite common. One will stretch over the maximum capability the penile tissues could endure without tearing the corpus spongiosum for intracellular collagen scar tissue release.

This usually occurs without any significant pain. The tear may be minor but just enough to result in a bodily response for collagen scarring in the area.

Several symptoms may be experienced:
-loss of sensation due to the local tissue alteration and nerve compression.
-the firm flaccid penis condition, which is usually a tissue retraction due to inflammation in the area.
-varicose veins, if an intravenous release of collagen is the case. The inability of the corpus spongiosum to expand properly and pinch the veins during an erection may eventually leads to blood stagnation, damage and enlargement, and lead to similar results.
-weaker erection due to the improper corpus spongiosum functioning and nerve damage.
-visible abnormalities, such as slight curvature, bruises, and lumps indicative of capillary and tissue damage.

However, penile traumas are more common during periods of slight sexual exhaustion through the androgen hormones fluctuations and lowered levels of local elasticity prostaglandin E1 E3 and Nitric Oxide (needed to expand tissues without excessive inflammatory responses). Weaker erections in an upright position are indicative of improper penile circulation and/or lowered androgens levels. Bioavailable hormones would be distributed to the lower part to support the additional muscle and tissue functions, not leaving enough for adequate sexual functioning.

The outer skin layer may feel lose, since the tissue underneath doesn’t have the same soft and elastic structure.
The frequent urination and insomnia are indicative of abnormal acetylcholine, serotonin, dopamine, and GABA levels for arginine vasopressin abnormal functioning, as well as insomnia.

There is much that can be done to significantly speed up the recovery time.
1. Discontinue sexual activities for 1 to 3 months.
2. Make a good use of the special SR-Cream to increase the local prostaglandin E1 and Nitrix Oxide for tissue regeneration and scar tissue dissolution.
3. Use hot wraps.
4. Make a good use of Alpha-Amino, Alpha-AGH, Multi-Alpha, Ultra-Purified-FishOil, and testicle cooling solutions to better nervous and endocrine functioning, increase androgen hormones production, better blood circulation and libido, aid the nervous modulation on inflammatory response, and increase prostaglandin E1 E3 and Nitric Oxide for healing.

UPDATE
Thank you for your reply doctor,i intend on getting the supplements you recommend.
I have a few other questions that i need help with also doctor.

The first is the SR Cream that you’ve recommended to me is that for the nerve damage in the penis shaft or the hard flaccid?

Please could you tell me how best to use this cream what time of day?

Also doctor you suggest hot wraps please could you tell me how to do this properly and is this for the nerve/tissue damage and how will this help?

As I’m suffering from frequent urination, insomnia its been suggested to me to try amitriptyline, if i just used 10mg at night would this be ok? as i know doctors prescribe this to small children to stop them urinating in bed.

Thanks again for all the help doctor this is a very difficult time for me as making a full recovery just sounds to good to be true at the moment.

ANSWER
“The SR-Cream that you’ve recommended to me is that for the nerve damage in the penis shaft or the hard flaccid?”

Both, it will promote blood flow and high levels of prostaglandin E1 E3 and Nitric Oxide, abd together with the heightened androgens and stabilized neurotransmitter levels from the other products, will dissolve the scars and eventually restore nerve damage. Note that the nerves may be inadequately functioning just because of the excessive scar tissue. An immediate sensitivity improvement is to be observed.

“Please could you tell me how best to use this cream what time of day?”

It can be used 1 to 2 times a day, best in the late morning.

“Also doctor you suggest hot wraps please could you tell me how to do this properly and is this for the nerve/tissue damage and how will this help?”

There are quite a few ways to do them. You can heat up a wrap and apply for 15 minutes, or just take a bath.

“As im suffering from frequent urination, insomnia its been suggested to me to try amitriptyline, if i just used 10mg at night would this be ok?”

No need to take similar drugs.

“Thanks again for all the help doctor this is a very difficult time for me as making a full recovery just sounds to good to be true at the moment.”

Thank you for your reply doctor,
Please could you quickly just tell me what you mean by No need to take similar drugs when i asked about amitriptyline as i just want to know if amitriptyline is ok for someone suffering from SE.
Thank you again Dr.

ANSWER
“I just want to know if amitriptyline is ok for someone suffering from se.”

It has the potential to interact with numerous compounds, so one should decide individually if should be taken, if prescribed. I, personally, do not prescribe it for any form of SE related, or urination problems.

UPDATE
Thank you for your response doctor, ive decided against the amitryptoline as i also read there an anti depressant.
I just have one quick question that i really need to know Dr.
I’ve noticed that if i have a lazy day where i just sit around all day and don’t burn off any energy i get very good nocturnal erections to the point where i have to wait for it to go down before i can take a leak when i wake up.
But if I’ve had a busy day where I’ve done a lot of walking my nocturnal erections are greatly reduced and I’m not sure if I’m even getting any at all.
The thing is Dr i want to exercise a little and go for a jog each day but it seems to effect my nocturnal erections.
Do you know whats going on here Dr?.
How can i correct this so i can exercise and still get my nocturnal erections?
Again Dr i want to thank you for the help your providing me,without this site i really don’t know where i’d be.

ANSWER
Through the exercise you’re burning much of the bioavailable androgens. Borderline levels may prove to be too low to efficiently power up your nocturnal erections. Also, this contributes to the firm flaccid when standing, since much androgens are needed to power the lower part of the body.

UPDATE
Thank you for the reply again Dr,
So if I’m burning to much androgens through exercise please could you tell me which one of your products it is that helps build androgen levels.
Also Dr would you recommend that i still go for a morning jog each day?
Will jogging make my body produce more androgens so eventually having enough for both exercise and nocturnal erections?
Thanks again.

ANSWER
It is the synergestic action of all the products listed to lower inflammatory response, stabilize acetylcholine, serotonin, dopamine, and GABA levels, increase prostaglandin E1 E3 and Nitric Oxide, and thus eventually better the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal-testicular axis and increase androgens.
Yes, jogging is usually beneficial. However, if one is in a cycle of inflammation, it may prove to be counter indicative by inducing excessive epinephrine release, promote inflammation, and burn androgens.

UPDATE
Hello again Dr i just have 1 other quick question.
I’ve read in a couple of your posts you’ve advised people to try clomid for low testosterone levels,i’m thinking of trying this myself and just wanted to ask you if this would raise my androgen also,as i haven’t been tested via a Dr but i suspect there very low and think i may need an additional boost.
Thank you again for all the help through this difficult time.

ANSWER
Should consider using Clomiphene Citrate only if your testosterone levels are around 300 ng/dL or lower – otherwise there is just no need. One may better internal endocrine and nervous functioning and increase androgens in a safe manner with less to no negative feedback reactions.

UPDATE
hello Dr
I just have a couple of questions.

After abstaining for around 3 months i decided to not leave it any longer and noticed that when i ejaculated my semen was a lot thicker and didn’t just dribble out it didn’t shoot out either though.
Also my semen way mostly a kind of yellow color, Is this an improvement would you say from last time when it just dribbled out like sticky water

and whats with the yellow color its never been like that before?
Also Dr is it ok to abstain for this long or is 3 months to long as i notice you normally tell people 2-4 weeks is there a particular reason for this?

I now intend to abstain for around 5 months and see how i feel then. I also noticed my erect penis didn’t seem as thick as before, though the length was the same do you know whats going on here?

Thank you a thousand times for helping me Dr.

ANSWER
“Also my semen way mostly a kind of yellow color,Is this an improvement would you say from last time when it just dribbled out like sticky water. and whats with the yellow color its never been like that before?”

Yes, the color is to be expected. It is perfectly normal and one may observe it even after 1 or 2 weeks of abstinence. Since it didn’t dribble I would say that the penile tissues and muscles (such as the PC) have gotten stronger, yet not over-excited to shoot it. It is a positive sign.

“Also Dr is it ok to abstain for this long or is 3 months to long as i notice you normally tell people 2-4 weeks is there a particular reason for this?”

Did you experience nocturnal emissions? Also any negative signs, such as heart palpitations or anxiety? There are some people that do not respond well to prolonged abstinence. The organism may respond in a similar manner as with excessive masturbation – with an increased inflammatory response and heightened arousal, and decreased sexual capabilities as a result.

“I also noticed my erect penis didn’t seem as thick as before, though the length was the same do you know whats going on here?”

If you masturbated a second time, the girth may have returned to normal. It is usually a result of low initial prostaglandin E2 levels not enabling the penis to reach its maximum potential.

Glad if I could help!

I am 30years of age and am suffering with chronic bactereal prostatitis for the last 5 yrs.

My prostatitis was discovered in 2005 while I was working In a bank and was living a sedentary lifestyle.I have always had only one life partner to whom I am married now and have never ever had sexual relationship with anyone else.I used to masturbate almost 3 times a week before marriage (That’s till around 6 months back)and while I was in college I sometimes did it daily. While I was in my early teens I have sometimes masturbated 3 times a day.

My symptoms are the same now as they were 5 yrs back, only the intensity changes. These symptoms include sharp pain during urination, urgency to urinate at least ten times a day, disturbed sleep at night due to the reason that I have to get up to urinate at least once.

I have had the following tests done, all with NORMAL result
Transrectal ultrasound
Cystoscopy
IVP
Semen analysis
PCR Tubercular bacteria identification test etc

I get urine and semen culture done regularly and take antibiotics(21 day course) according to the sensitivity report of the identified bacterial colonies. Sometimes after having antibiotics some of the symptoms get relieved and the reports come out negative but then again after a period of 3 weeks or so, the culture shows positive results leaving me taking antibiotics again with aggravated symptoms. I have taken the following antibiotics till now:
Ofloxacin, Ciprofloxacin, prulifloxacin, feropenam sodium, amikacin and many others

My cultures show growth both in urine and semen. Now I have started feeling pain in the crotch area all the time and my symptoms are aggravated. I feel very low and depressed PLEEEEEEEEEEAAASE HELP.

ANSWER
Hello there,
Chronic bacterial prostatitis is a rare condition and most of the cases (up to 80%) are responding well to the antibiotics prescribed. That leaves you in the 5 to 10% of men with chronic bacterial prostatitis and in the 20-30% of them that do not respond well to antibiotics. I would suggest diagnosis revaluation. Inflammatory or anatomical factors that precede the bacterial prostatitis and strongly contribute for overgrowth of the cultures are to be excluded first.

For instance, the poor blood circulation associated with the sedentary lifestyle may have contributed to the prostate malnutrition and inflammation for lowered levels of elasticity prostaglandin E1. An abrasion followed through forceful series of ejaculations that further inflamed the prostate and caused discomfort. Different bacteria then took residence (or just grew in numbers) through the abnormal immune response in the area, so the condition became self supporting.

My advice to you is to:
1. Discontinue sexual activities for 1 to 2 months.
2. Make a good use of Zeolite-DA, Multi-Alpha, 5HTP-Nettle, Alpha-Amino, and Ultra-Purified-FishOil to better nervous and endocrine functioning, increase androgen hormones, better the liver functions, properly modulate inflammatory response, and increase prostaglandin E1 E3 and Nitric Oxide synthesis. The combination above will better the overall blood flow and immune response, and lower internal inflammation for restoration.

I didn’t notice any immediate damage except the veins on the side of my penis became much larger. I also noticed that my penis was often cold especially in the head, and would only warm up when erect or manually stimulated. What would cause this? After a couple months it retracted into a firm flaccid state. It seems to only do this when I’m working out or tensed, but it is certainly abnormal. I also noticed weaker erections so when engaging in sexual intercourse I would have to squeeze and clench my pc muscles to keep a hard erection. After some time I began prematurely ejaculating which was never a problem at all before. Then as if that wasn’t enough I began noticing frequent urination and difficulty urinating. Like I have to push all of the urine out. It almost feels like there is a pressure (no pain) in my prostate or pc muscle area when i have an erection and was wondering what could cause that. I am still dealing with these problems. I have been to several urologists and they say there is nothing wrong and that it’s all in my head which is the most painful “diagnosis” especially when you know there is something wrong. Anyway doc if there is anything at all I can do to help this problem I would greatly appreciate the advice. Will it ever heal? Will my ejaculation ever go back to normal? As well as the urination? Sorry for the long post but you must understand my frustrations! I am a very healthy 19 year old by the way.

ANSWER
Drake, I’m sorry to hear about your problems, especially since they could have been avoided with little more information on the matter. You are experiencing symptoms of sexual exhaustion.

The probable penile injury is a combined result of biochemical occurrences and the mechanical damage itself (that induced massive collagen and Prostaglandin E2 release). You’ve overstretched your penile tissues. If insufficient levels of prostaglandin E1 E3 for elasticity are observed, the tissues may become highly prone to injuries. However, even if sufficient prostaglandins E1 E3 levels are observed, one may still injure the penis through vigorous overstretching. An internal collagen scar tissue will be then observed. If there is intravenous collagen release, you will experience varicose veins soon after, although one may suffer varicose veins later due to the inability of the corpus spongiosum to pinch the veins properly, resulting in over-stretching and damage. The scar may take months to fully develop.

Retraction upon tension may be indicative of moderate androgen hormone levels, heightened inflammatory response, and improper neurotransmitter levels – backed by the fact that you are experiencing weaker erections.

The premature ejaculation may be a direct result of the PC muscle exercises. Contracting the PC muscle is usually the last resort of a man to keep a functioning erection. The contractions will promote excessive prostaglandin E2 release and will overexcite your prostate and local tissues for premature ejaculation.

The prostate might be slightly enlarged through the faulty modulation on inflammatory response that is frequently observed in similar cases, thus causing the urination problems. Also, excessive testosterone-DHT conversions and artery constriction may contribute to the condition.

There are several issues that have to be addressed. You should:
1.Discontinue sexual activities for 2 to 4 weeks.
2.Make a good use of the specially designed supportive SR-Cream – massage the penis 2 times a day. Also use hot wraps 2 times a day.
3. Make a good use of Alpha-Amino, Multi-Alpha, Alpha-AGH, 5HTP-Nettle, and Ultra-Purified-FishOil to better nervous and endocrine functioning, increase androgen hormones production, restore proper acetylcholine, serotonin, dopamine, and GABA levels, restore proper nervous modulation on excitatory and inflammatory hormonal releases, lower prolactin, better the libido, charge the parasympathetic nervous system, promote spontaneous erections and increase prostaglandin E1 E3 and Nitric Oxide for healing.
4.Numerous solutions will also prove to be effective in additionally increasing androgen levels.

UPDATE
So if i combine these products will I fully heal? I am a healthy, athletic 19 year old and I’m freaking out because I am afraid I may not ever heal or be able to have a happy family someday. Thanks again. You are the first doctor that seems to have any idea what is going on.

ANSWER
Yes, your condition should improve dramatically. No need to fear such things, since you are just 19 years old.

Symptoms include hard flaccid penis which is worse when standing up and the hardness seems to vary throughout the day do you know the reason for this? Also a lowered libido as i was masturbating between 1 and 5 times a day before this for about 4 months and so I’ve stopped ejaculating completely now and am on my 3rd week although i cant say this has been difficult. Also a weak erection though even this seems to vary from day to day. I don’t get spontaneous erections anymore either and although when i stopped ejaculating i started getting morning wood stronger each day i then took 5htp and it caused me to lose my night time erections(morning wood)gave me a fast heartbeat and i only got about 2 hours sleep a night i took this for 4 days and then stopped because of these side affects, that was 4 days ago and the morning wood still hasn’t come back yet could you please tell me the reason for this?i just took 1x100mg tab for 4 days when will the 5htp effect wear off?. Other symptoms are frequent urination especially at night time (2-4 times a night)and the urine always seems to be clear and not very yellow.Insomnia is also a big problem,i seem to fall to sleep easy enough but then keep waking up every couple of hours and the 5htp i took has only made this worse.also the odd random shooting pain around the top of my legs and tailbone area and my perineum also feels quite raw and tender.also not being able to think straight and focus. I’ve also had to stop exercising as before this happened i lifted weights daily but when i do now it causes my heart to beat fast and this dosn’t go for about 3 days its even there while im sat down or in bed and although i still do get the fast heartbeat now its much worse after exercise could you please explain the fast heartbeat to me also?.The last symptom is depression and i cant seem to stop crying i know this sounds pathetic and im normally a very happy optimistic young 28 year old but this has completely destroyed me,im not sure iff i can cope much longer i don’t even go out anymore.Other supplements I’ve been taking are ginkgo biloba, multi vits amino acids, zinc, and I’m waiting for gaba to arrive also arginine arousal gel will these help? If i continue abstaining from ejaculating how long should i expect to wait till I’ve reached normal functions again(approximately).once again Dr Richards thank you so so much for your help and advice its invaluable.

ANSWER
Your problems are assosiated with unstable acetylcholine, serotonin, dopamine, and GABA levels, along with improper parasympathetic calming function and sympathetic firing, which is usually comes as a result of weak nervous modulation on excitatory and inflammatory hormones release and moderate or borderline androgen hormones levels.

“Symptoms include hard flaccid penis which is worse when standing up and the hardness seems to vary throughout the day do you know the reason for this?”

It is worst when you are standing because much of the bioavailable androgen hormones are redirected to support the lower body’s increased consumption, so there’s not enough left for sexual function.
Most of the hormones are released through surges, so their levels will actively change throughout the day.

“hasn’t come back yet could you please tell me the reason for this?i just took 1x100mg tab for 4 days when will the 5htp effect wear off?”

Supplying only serotonin while sexually exhausted may not be the best idea. High levels of serotonin while experiencing other abnormalities will lead to ill chain reactions through numerous conversions that may have a long lasting effect on the internal hormonal equilibrium.

“The fast heartbeat now its much worse after exercise could you please explain the fast heartbeat to me also?”

Excessive sympathetic firing, while improper parasympathetic functions are observed.

“Other supplements ive been taking are ginkgo biloba, multi vits amino acids, zinc, and I’m waiting for gaba to arrive also arginine arousal gel will these help?”

A random set of supplements won’t prove to be very effective due to the specific need to properly address every problem to avoid reactions supporting the negative neuroplasticity through various feedback mechanisms.

“if i continue abstaining from ejaculating how long should i expect to wait till I’ve reached normal functions again(approximately).”

Should wait until improvements are observed.

Glad if I could help!

I am 25 years old, 2 months ago i had a tragic car accident and now i am still sleeping on my back because i have pelvic fracture ( fracture of both inferior pubic bone and vertical fracture of right ala of sacrum ). Also, my urinary bladder was ruptured and my prostate was displaced but the urethra remained intact. I had urethral catheter for about 1 month, now I am still in my bed and have problems.

I have problems with erections since the accident, i am very worried. It is very, very weak and was so painful. When I try to get nocturnal erections it will become painful and the pain would prevent it. Also, my penis is tender and is in a firm flaccid condition most of time. Also urination is painful and urinate several times and each time the volume of urine is decreased. When I urinate the pain is elevated and flaccid becomes normal only for a minute. My question is :

What is the expected cause of my case in painful erection? Is there are something that may have occurred during the surgery which repaired my bladder and prostate??

Also I want to say that when i touch the middle area of the base of penis there is huge pain radiating anteriorly. What can i do in this period while i will also stay for other 3 weak waiting pelvic bone to heal …thank u so much

ANSWER
This is a severe case. Internal hematomas are to be expected. Along with the ruptured bladder and displaced prostate, I would say that you are lucky you can even achieve erections.
You should consult with your local physician who will be familiar with your exact case and condition to give you more detailed answer, explanation, and directions.

I am 29 years old and the problems started when I was 27. It happened very suddenly and there was no injury that I can recall. When the problem started I first noticed I had to urinate A LOT more than normal, and then I was in extreme pain and could not move for several weeks.

I went to the doctor and they did not really know what was wrong, but they put me on antibiotics for 10 days (levaquin) and the pain and frequent urination seemed to subside. Looking back, it is apparent to me that I have been having problems with my erections being weak and an intermittent firm flaccid penis ever since then, but at first the problems were not too severe. Last august I had to move far away from my friends and my family and I broke up with my girlfriend. After this I became extremely depressed, and I masturbated a lot during this time (usually about twice a day).

After several months I had another “attack” similar to the one described above, and for the last three months I have been suffering with extremely weak erections, frequent urination, and my flaccid penis is firm probably about half of the time. I do get nocturnal erections most of the time but they are usually weak as well, however sometimes I wake up with a rock hard erection, but these are rare. I should also mention that I have had insomnia for this same length of time, where I can fall asleep just fine, but always wake up after 2-3 hours, sometimes I can go back to sleep for another 2-3 hours, but I have not slept more than 3 hours in a row in months now.

I have also heavily smoked both cigarettes and marijuana until very recently (I’m actually still trying to quit the cigarettes, but sometimes my anxiety is so extreme that smoking a cigarette is the only thing that makes me feel a little better, I am down to 2-4 cigarettes a day from a pack a day). I have been to doctors to rule out things like diabetes, cancer, stones, enlarged prostate, and they can’t find anything wrong. It seems like there have been some people who have successfully cured similar things on this website, so I was wondering what combination of supplements you would recommend for my particular situation. Thanks in advance.

ANSWER
Indeed, overactive sexual activities will cause neurotransmitter and hormonal fluctuations, harm the internal biochemical equilibrium, burden the liver (which to support the negative neuroplasticity), and eventually lead to ill consequences.

Usually, exhausting ones organism is a gradual process, which means that one may suffer from several symptoms of sexual exhaustion and still have sufficient erection power to continue the abuse. Of course, that would be the case if there is enough hGH and androgen hormones to support the activities, as well as low prolactin levels.

The frequent urination is indicative of an inflammatory response, while the loss of erection power means that you are starting to experience less androgen hormones production through the hypothalamic-pituitary-testicular axis. The firm flaccid penis condition in your case should be an indication of lowered androgen hormones, prostaglandin E1 E3, and NO levels. You should be extremely careful, too – a penis in this condition is usually quite prone to injuries, and then you will have a hard time dissolving the collagen scar.

The insomnia you are experiencing is a clear indication of serotonin, dopamine, and GABA imbalances and high levels of stress, excitatory, and inflammatory hormones as cortisol, epinephrine, glutamate, and prostaglandin E2 for sympathetic excitation and anxiety. It will prove to be very harmful for the CNS.

For best results you should:
1.Lower the frequency of sexual activities. A complete discontinuation for a month is necessary.
2.Make a good use of Multi-Alpha, 5HTP-Nettle, GRB6-GABA (replace it after a month with Alpha-AGH to additionally boost the hGH levels), Zelite, Alpha-Amino, Ultra-Purified-FishOil, and testicle cooling solutions to restore proper nervous and endocrine functioning, detoxify the overburdened liver (not only by the overmasturbation but by cigarettes and marijuana) for a proper P450 detoxification system functioning, restore proper acetylcholine, serotonin, dopamine, and GABA levels, restore nervous modulation on stress, excitatory, inflammatory hormonal releases and dopamine-epinephrine-norepinephrine conversions, charge the CNS, restore the proper functioning of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal-testicular axis, increase androgens, and increase prostaglandin E1 E3 and Nitric Oxide for healing.

In past I had problem of excessive secretion of precum (during arousal as well in routine) which irritated me. Immediately, after secretion, I felt problem in urination and pain in lower body region. I took some home medicine but it had no effect. However with the passage of time the secretion went on minimizing but it was not normal and mild stimulation (Mental thoughts & romantic programs) were enough to start it.

Now the same problem has started again for the last five months and this time it is much more severe. My routine life has been greatly disturbed and I experience this secretion many times a day. The quantity of secretion varies and started in no time with mild stimulation (Mental thoughts & romantic programmes).

During secretion I feel some excitement on tip of my penis. Now the situation is that I am feeling continuous pain on my penis and back and frequent urge of urination which comes out in small quantity and not with full pressure during day time and at night after sleeping.

The secretion occurs mostly in the morning when i awake sitting on a chair for long time talking to a girl
watching normal romantic programs and having romantic thoughts.

Please advise me on this issue and tell that whether this too much secretion is harmful for my coming normal as well as married life. What care should I take in my routine life and food?
Thanks

ANSWER
You have to recondition your prostate and nearby pelvic tissues and get a grip on the serotonin and GABA nervous modulation which is blown and is not able to constrict the additional prostaglandin E2 release (even by the slightest sexual thought or for no reason) in the nearby tissues for a precum leakage. Excessive precum leakage is harmful and may lead to numerous inflammations and complications.

1.Discontinue sexual activities for 1 to 3 months.
2.Balance your diet.
3.Make good use of Multi-Alpha, Alpha-Amino, 5HTP-Nettle, Ultra-Purified-FishOil, and testicle temperature regulatory solutions.
4.Try to activate parasympathetic nerves in the area by squeezing your buttocks and sphincter. Note that you should not squeeze the PC muscle which is called keggling and is quite different from what you should try. So you should be conscious in contracting only the sphincter in intervals of 4-5 seconds for 4-5 minutes.

Don’t contract the anus hard because you will contract the prostate, too, which is not recommended. So you must pre-expand the prostate muscle by inhaling, which will apply pressure against the bladder.

I am very much grateful for your early and detailed reply. May you advice me what food should I take more and which one less to improve my condition.
Yes, you should lower the red meat intake.

ANSWER
Along with sexual exhaustion, the specific problems can be contributed to excessive histamine and prostaglandin E2 produced by the bladder, prostate, bulbourethral glands and urethra.

You have low levels of Arginine vasopressin, which is a major factor in water retention and moisture for the skin. When the pituitary releases signals the release of low amounts you will suffer frequent urination, dry skin, and over-sweating. If it is too high you will have water retention problems.

You should do several things:
1.Discontinue masturbation and sexual activities for 1 to 3 months.
2.Lower the stress hormones, gradually rejuvenate your neuro-endocrine function, and boost your Prostaglandins E1 E3 and NO for healing.

Wish you a fast recovery!

Dear Dr. Richards,

I’ve had fairly severe prostatitis (as diagnosed by my Dr. after performing a digital rectal exam, and mentioning that my prostate is inflamed or “boggy”)for over 5 years – and I’m 29. At times, the pain is so intense as to interrupt my sleep and work. Symptoms include burning during urination and especially ejaculation. I also suffer from severe “fight or flight” type anxiety while going to the bathroom in public places (i basically CANNOT urinate unless i am completely alone, in a stall, sitting down). I’ve been treated with Cipro and Doxycycline for STDs/bacterial infections, to no avail. I’ve seen 3 urologists, had an intraveinous pylogram, CT scan, urothroscope, and various other painful and invasive procedures. All in all, I’ve spent thousands of dollars looking for some improvement, and have nothing to show for it – no structure, stones, cancer etc. This seems to compound the severe anxiety and at times depression i feel… until i found this site and read some of the symptoms of sexual exhaustion (which gave me a little bit of hope). i started masturbating at 10-11 yrs old, and masturbated at least once (and up to 7 times) every day until recently. The urologists and Dr.s are baffled. The funny thing is that i’ve been encouraged to keep on masturbating by my Dr.s to increase blood flow and get the antibiotics into my prostate.

My question is two-fold.

1) Could an STD cause prostatitis – if so what should i do to heal naturally? I mean, i get sinus infections and strep throat for a week or so, and they clear up on their own, without antibiotics. Why would my prostate be any different? Urine tests for gonorrhea and chlamydia continue to come back negative. The antibiotics don’t seem to help thus far. (I’ve only had unprotected oral sex – which makes me think my prostatitis is more “exhaustion” based).

2)Would an STD cause severe anxiety? (as experienced by those who suffer from sexual exhaustion). I honestly feel like my nervous system is completely shot. At times, i literally and physically tremble uncontrollably when stressed by work or relations.

All this began during a very reckless and stress filled time in my life in the spring of 2005.

Please, please, please help me… I don’t know how much longer i can endure this pain – it’s overwhelming at times. the way i describe it to my friends is that it’s a similar burning sensation to having lemon juice squeezed in your eye! (except, it’s my prostate of course) It ESPECIALLY hurts when my bladder is full (which feels like all the time). When i do urinate, it’s excruciating to begin, and at the end it drips out for almost 20 seconds (it’s like i can’t squeeze the last bit of urine out of my urethra).

Also, I have a forked urine stream, feel weak and exhausted/depressed most of the time, and (crazily as described on your site) i often wake up with my hands and forearms numb (almost like they’re “asleep” but i sleep on my back… it’s like they’re just not getting any blood flow when i sleep)

Could you describe exactly what’s (most likely) happening to my prostate, and what i should do?

He who sows to the flesh reaps corruption (abrasion at least) after all, i guess.

May God Bless You,

-A

p.s. I can’t believe that i would be much healthier and probably much more “masculine” had i not masturbated all this time… the ultimate irony. Growing up, you were a “man” (at least among my peers) if you looked at porn all the time and masturbated, and objectified women… what a joke!

ANSWER
I’m really sorry to hear of you problems.

“He who sows to the flesh reaps corruption”

That is true, doesn’t matter if are drugs, over-masturbation, over-eating, etc.
You have a chronic prostatitis, this means that it is less likely to be caused by any STD (except HIV). It gets even more strange to why were you prescribed antibiotics for a chronic prostatitis in the first place.

Here is what I consider the real problem here:

You’re completely sexually exhausted (I suggest you read the articles for more detailed explanations), have insufficient cholinergic, serotonine, dopamine, and GABA functions as well as blown nervous modulation and control over the inflammatory stress hormones prolactin, cortisol, prostaglandin E2, and dopamine-norepinephrine-epinephrine conversion. You are experiencing uncontrollable anxiety and stress because your nervous and endocrine systems are on constant alert. This is a vicious cycle that just leads to additional release of stress and inflammatory hormones, so can’t be broken by your already completely exhausted nervous modulation system. The excessive norepinephrine and epinephrine will induces even additional prostaglandin E2 production, which in turn suppresses the immune system and hypersensitizes the sympathetic nerves. The neuroimmune function is usually weakened and many internal organs are in a constant state of inflammation.

It makes sense that it started during a period of great stress that induced additional stress hormones to blow up the modulation completely. One more confirmation to the stated above is that you’re experiencing Parkinson’s symptoms.

In addition – the high levels of the inflammatory prolactin, along with testicular exhaustion will lead to a deficiency of androgen hormones, causing a bunch of other symptoms.

Your prostate and urethra are severely abraded by the poor quality of ejaculation fluid and semen, which do not contain sufficient Prostaglandin E1. Prostaglandin E1 itself is very beneficial to the nearby tissues, acting as a nervous rejuvenation drug and an anti-cancer agent. If the quality of your EF and semen is poor, the contraction force with which they come out can be extremely destructive for the nerves and tissues of the prostate and the urethra. Any internal abrasion is extremely difficult to detect by today’s medical tests and procedures. Your symptoms are a complete UFO for most of the urologists nowadays. They will just prescribe something that they think can counteract the symptoms and will grossly overlook the cause. Many of the things I write about are severely neglected by the medical community.
To conclude, your prostate is enlarged, inflamed, and abraded. That’s why you are experiencing pains. Keep in mind that an abrasion accompanied with such pains is dangerous, so you should be quick to act.

The things you may and should do are:

1. Discontinue any sexual activity for 1 to 3 months.
2. Take massages to increase the proper blood circulation.
3. Balance your diet.
4. Restore your nervous modulation on your inflammatory hormones release, jump start your CNS, increase prostaglandin E1 E3 and NO levels for healing, unlock your hypothalamus-pituitary-testicular axis and rewrite the negative neuroplasticity you’ve developed by using a set of specific supplements.
5. As for prostate, you may naturally reduce the DHT that is binding to it and making it grow.
Wish you a fast recovery!

UPDATE
Ok – quick question… since I’ve not been masturbating for about 4 weeks now (I stopped about three weeks prior to finding this site on my own just due to the pain) I’ve noticed that my urine is extremely “foamy” or “frothy”, especially when I urinate in the morning upon waking up. It’s almost as if there’s a “head” on it, like a beer (except with larger/medium sized bubbles)… should this be a cause for concern – this is a recent and odd development. What might be the cause of this?

ANSWER
It is normal, that is if not chronically observed. The possible causes are:
• Rapid urination: mostly observed in the morning when you’ve been holding the urine for a long time.
• Dehydration: just try to drink more fluids and see if there’s a change. Sexual exhaustion can burden the hypothalamus, also responsible for metabolic processes and other activities. You may not even feel thirsty and be dehydrated.
• Excessive protein in the urine (Proteinuria): it is possible to occur through heightened intake of certain foods like fish, chicken. Other possible causes are considered: kidney damage or gallbladder problems. Note that chronically elevated levels of prostaglandin E2 and epinephrine will damage many internal organs, including the gallbladder and the kidneys, so they may not work as effectively as before. Organs used to work under heightened levels of certain inflammatory hormones may take some time to adapt properly.

Try drinking lots of fluids, balance your protein intake, urinate slower, and see if there are any improvements.

If not, you may consider urinalysis and additional tests to determine the exact cause of the problem.

UPDATE
Well, the good news is that i slept for 7 hours last night without waking up to urinate… I’ve probably done that less than 20 times over the past 5 years, as i usually have to wake up at least once or twice to urinate. i believe my symptoms are improving slightly, but it is definitely slow going. one improvement i have noticed is that i seem to have less “dripping” when i finish urinating – i’m able to squeeze the last few drops out normally rather than manually. i also feel marginally calmer, and more relaxed.

two follow-up questions

1)is it possible that an undiagnosed STD is causing prostaglandin E2 production. i.e. a “which came first, the chicken or the egg” type question. obviously, over masturbation is incredibly destructive, but could an std just compound or actually be the cause of the prostatitis? i’m just wondering if taking an antibiotic “just in case” would be helpful. My doctor recomended Bactrim, but i haven’t filled the prescription, because i really don’t want to take an antibiotic if my prostatitis isn’t caused by a bacterial infection. it’s so confusing, trying to “do the right thing.”

2) i lift weights regularly, surf, go to yoga, etc. (i live in southern california). Surfing is especially exhilerating, and i always notice that my symptoms seem to spike after surfing – is this because of the adrenalizing effects of surfing (if so, i should probably quit for a few months)? i guess my question is, what types of exercise are ok during recovery. weight lifting always makes me feel better, i train hard – but i don’t take supplements or overdo it.

i just want to get better as quickly as possible. thanks again!

There seems to be some progress but you have to keep in mind that it is a generally slow process. You ware to observe improvements one after another, it will take time, though. Remember how many years it took you to exhaust your organism in the first place.

1) A chronic prostatitis (in your case 5 years) is unlikely to be caused by any STD except HIV. You should try taking the antibiotic. If there is no improvement it will be advisable to discontinue the administration.

2) You should avoid doing things that promote an excessive epinephrine release since you have to improve the modulation on stress and inflammatory response.

Light to moderate exercises are beneficial. Acute or prolonged weight lifting (more than 60 minutes) is to be avoided.

UPDATE
Well, two weeks have gone by… i’ve been taking the prescribed supplements, and have not “caved” into taking the Bactrim prescribed for me about a month ago yet (because i don’t think it’ll work… because i’m not sure that my affliction is caused by a bacteria!)

Improvements continue, although the healing process is understandably slow. A few days agp, I had back to back nights of uninterrupted sleep, which was amazing.

I haven’t masturbated, been with a woman, looked at porn, fantasized, or really even had an erection in about 6 weeks (unbelievable, but true) i guess when you feel searing pain upon urination and ejaculation, it has a way of “taming” the compulsion… maybe like a smoker with throat/lung cancer. You start to see the folly of your ways, and hope there’e enough time to repent as you come to your senses.

As far as symptoms go, I still have the “urgency” to urinate frequently, and I do go frequently, but the “burning” upon urination has diminished quite a bit, and I’m very, very encouraged by this improvement. Some days are better than others, but for the first time (here and there) I’ve been able to urinate with almost no complications, which practically brought tears of joy to my eyes (i called my friends, too, because i was so happy).

As a Christian, what’s helped me the most is realizing the errors of my ways, repenting, and asking God’s forgiveness for all the crap I’ve done to my body. I’ve been struggling with sexual compulsion/addiction for almost twenty years, and through God’s chastening (because He loves us), I’m finally coming to my senses. Looing back, I can’t believe some of the things I used to do and think. My mind and thoughts are actually changing, the LUST IS DIMINISHING, and I’m less anxious, less depressed, and less afraid of social interaction with strangers. It’s weird to look at a woman, and not lust after her, but at the same time appreciate her beauty, like looking at a sunset or something.

I also began attending SAA meetings (Sex Addicts Anonymous) locally, and they’ve been really helpful, too. I go once a week, and it’s great to be with others who are struggling with the same thing.

One last thing i’ve done that Dr. Richards encouraged was to change my diet. After reading about all the hormones in milk and red meat, I haven’t really touched the stuff in about 4 weeks. I’ve mostly been eating raw, uncooked fruits and veggies. It def. takes some getting used to, but I feel so much better, and i have much more energy. Asparugus I feel is especially helpful for me for some reason (maybe it’s in my head)… it would be interesting to test all the fruits and veggies in the world for their prostaglandin effects, and them list them like we do their chemical content (e.g. spinach is known for having iron).

Anyways, i’m getting better… Thanks again!

p.s. QUICK QUESTION regarding antibiotics – do antibiotics “cure” us, or do they just keep the bacteria at bay long enough for our own immune system to “cure” us?

ANSWER
I’m glad to hear of your progress.
You don’t crave sex through the diminished levels of excitatory and inflammatory hormones in the brain and internal organs. It is an indication that your sex drive was driven by the wrong factors.

You are currently recovering your proper neuroplasticity, which when restored and functional will promote a healthy non-obsessive (yet stronger) sex drive.

Congratulations on the way you are optimizing your diet, it will prove be highly beneficial.
There are different classes of antibiotics. However, they will not cure you, they will just assist your immune system if the problem is bacterial in nature. Actually there is nothing that “cures” you except your own immune system. There is no drug yet invented to be able to get you rid off just one viral infection by itself. All the work is done by the extremely advanced and complicated immune system. That is why it is difficult to invent cure for HIV since it targets the system itself.

I’d love to hear from you again!

UPDATE
(Week 6 follow-up)
Hi Dr. Richards!
I hope you’re doing well… it’s exciting to see the site expanding as it has, in such a small amount of time. Thank you so much for helping us! Thank you…

I wanted to give you a quick update, as I’ve stayed on course!
1) I saw my local Dr. last week and he re-checked my prostate as a follow-up from 8 weeks ago. He stated that my prostate had “shrunk”! He also let me know that it no longer felt swollen or boggy. I asked him directly whether or not he would have believed i had prostatitis 8 weeks earlier by feeling my prostate the way it is now, and he said no – because it felt “fine.” So, i think that’s pretty good news! He said it would have been very difficult to diagnose me with prostatitis had he not felt the inflammation for himself 8 weeks ago. He smiled, and stated “the antibiotics must be working.” He seemed annoyed when i told him that I hadn’t taken them at all… He stated and I quote “90 percent of the time, prostatitis is caused by an STD” He then strongly recommended (again) that I masturbate at least once a week to get “cell turnover” in my prostate… Needless to say NO WONDER it’s taken me 5 years to get better, because i keep listening to my Dr.s!

2) I did masturbate once a week ago, because I felt i was getting better, and just wanted to check if it “burned” when i ejaculated like i used to… it didn’t! That was just one time, just to see if it would burn (curiosity got the better of me) More good news, i guess…

3) This may sound odd, but i have a very keen sense of smell… and my urine smells more “normal” now. Not like ammonia/onions. When my prostatitis got really bad, my urine smelled awful! my urine now smells the way i remember it smelling from my childhood… almost a “sweet” kind of smell, not putrid.

4) I am able to urinate with more velocity, and I’ve noticed that my urethra doesn’t seem to be as swollen as it used to be, because my urine doesn’t split into two streams as it used to. I’ve been measuring the volume of my urine as well in the morning… now i urinate about 750 ml in the morning, only waking up ONCE in the middle of the night if i have to. I used to urinate when my bladder was around 200-300 ml full, 2-3 times a night.

5) I still have the urgency to urinate off and on, with better days and worse days… but the “burning” continues to subside.

And Finally, a Question for You, Dr. R –

While my immediate pain symptoms continue to improve (slowly), I still for the life of me cannot pee in a public place, unless i’m in a stall. At home, i’m beginning to pee normally again, without having to sit down each time. I understand this is from my parasympathetic nervous system being shot, but will i ever have the “nerve” to pee like a man again, without my fight or flight response overwhelming me when i urinate in a public restroom? how long would you estimate it takes the parasympathetic nervous system to recover to the point that this becomes a non-issue… it’s kind of embarrassing to me that I have to use a stall… i just feel very VULNERABLE when i’m not in a stall, and my body just CAN’T relax yet enough to urinate, even if i really, really have to go! What exactly is happening in this specific situation? Why can’t i just WILL myself to pee?

Thanks again! i look forward to hearing back soon!

ANSWER
Always a pleasure to hear of you progress in such a detailed manner.
You are currently transforming your neuroplasticity to a positive one. The inter neuronal connections have been developed and ordered to process information in a specific manner. You may experience severe difficulties in rewriting their work to induce proper (by what you consider a proper response) responses in certain situations.

To do that, you must be constantly trying to achieve your goal. Actually, the prostaglandin E2 that will be released in stressful situations will aid your nervous system in rewriting specific responses. The fact is that if you present an external irritant, as to say excessive reading, the induced prostaglandin E2 will actually help your neuronal connections create a whole new internal network to support your activities in a more efficient manner. So the change in the neuroplasticity will help you read faster and remember more information the next day. It is like a mind and nervous training, or as a positive brainwash – a two edged blade, just don’t overdo it. And there you go, very frequently one will not have the conscious control over similar nervous responses to external irritants.

It will take some time to alter the negative neuroplasticity that has been formed and reinforced for so many years, but the persistence will be rewarded.

UPDATE
(Week 8 follow-up)
Still holdin’ on… 8 weeks into the healing process. I think I continue to improve – but very, very slowly.
I was hoping to be “completely healed” by now… certainly, i thought, 2 months is enough time to recover from any sickness or irritation.

I am realizing that my recovery is more along the lines of a recovering bulimic, whose esophagus has been eroded from years and years of vomiting. On countless occasions, i’ve literally masturbated until there was no ejaculate left in me.

I guess my prostatitis probably isn’t going to heal “just like that.”

Dr. Richards, please go into a little more detail regarding the following:

“Restore your nervous modulation on your inflammatory hormones release, and jump start your CNS, increase Prostaglandin E1 E3 and NO levels for healing, UNLOCK (emphasis mine) your hypothalamus-pituitary-testicular axis by taking the proper supplements”

I see this mentioned in your recommendations often, and I’ve searched the web for weeks trying to understand this better. I’ve heard it described by Dr. Lin (another online doctor who seems to specialize in sexual exhaustion) as a car-battery that’s too depleted to start the car, and in turn, can’t recharge itself.

My questions are:

1) How and why does the hypothalamus-pituitary-testicular axis become “locked” in the first place?

2) How long, after taking the supplements, will it take to unlock?
Ideally, i’d like to be a helpful case study of sorts for you – documenting an approximate healing time for severe prostatitis “most likely” caused by sexual exhaustion, as i’ve exhibited most of the symptoms listed on your website (anxiety/depression, trembling, prostatitis, negative bacteria urinalysis, over-masturbation, etc.).

Thanks again for your help!

Also, please recommend for me the appropriate “new” supplements, as the original supplements have been removed from your first response.

Double thanks, again…

ANSWER
Always a pleasure.

“1) How and why does the hypothalamus-pituitary-testicular axis become “locked” in the first place?”

The increased levels of cortisol, prostaglandin E2, norepinephrine, epinephrine, and especially prolactin after ejaculation will negatively affect the levels of GnRH, LH and FSH, and together with the arterial inflammation and constriction will kill testicular function as well as hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal-testicular axis’ proper functioning. Less androgens to modulate inflammatory response, testicular tissue health, insulin resistance, energy levels, tissue and testicular health, proper nts. and hormonal conversions, and neurotransmitters homeostasis will result in even more vicious cycle of inflammation to suppress them even further through low dopamine levels and chronically high prolactin. The overactive sexual activities will slowly drain the organism of its potential for rejuvenation.

“2) How long, after taking the supplements, will it take to unlock?”

The functions of hypothalamic-pituitary-testicular axis in sexually exhausted individuals improves after about 2 to 3 weeks when finally the inflammatory hormones levels are brought down. However, there are many problems to deal with, like the unstable responses of ones organism to sexual stimulations because of local tissue damage, negative neuroplasticity, and still existent neurostransmitter and hormonal imbalances. So similar extra inflammatory responses to sexual stimulation may occur even with minor triggers.

“Also, please recommend for me the appropriate “new” supplements, as the original supplements have been removed from your first response.”

The old products were quite effective in dealing with the ill cycle of inflammation and proper nervous and endocrine functioning restoration. In your case Alpha-Amino, 5HTP-Nettle, GRB6-GABA, Alpha-AGH, Multi-Alpha, Ultra-Purified-FishOil, and testicle temperature regulation will prove to be of even greater assistance.
